No DHD atm so can't compare.
I would say pretty much like Desire AMOLED version!

it's a nice phone, I don't think you'd regret getting it unless you have issues with battery life ... which I don't

no it isn't ... but if you read a couple pages back, some people were b****ing about battery life only lasting 16 hours on heavy use.
my phone lasts more than a day, with decent use.

yes it is bad but if you are not a heavy user like spunk it is ok... at least 1 day full use...
don be mistaken by her statement decent use... yesterday my Wildfire last more than 16 hours (on GSM only not 3G)...
the condition is my talktime less than 1 hour and there is not much emails flying around yesterday coz i'm sick and lazy to talk and reply mails...

imagine both phones is having the same amount of juice available (1300mAh), Desire Z with bigger screen and keypads... but it's CPU claimed to be more power saving...
i for seen any one in sales or customer service field can easily use up the juice within 10 hours if heavy usage on 3G network...
so 16 hours on heavy usage (on 3G network) is impossible to achieve... even on GSM network is barely there...

a view from a heavy user with the usage of at least 30 calls/day, approximately 2 hours talk time... Sync weather, Gmail and company email hourly (of course i download some attachment and read them too)... 10 SMS/day... sometimes surf/gaming a lil 10~15 minutes... in total my phone will be awake approximately 25% of the time (6 hours/day)... if i on my IM chatting it will be worst...

that's not what I mean by decent use. I play Angry Birds in class, I'm on email sync and facebook/twitter sync and I'm always surfing the internet and my battery still lasts more than a day. I rarely talk on the phone, but I send a good number of text messages. My use is not heavy, it is DECENT.

also, you talk like smartphones don't have limited battery power. I don't think only the desire z has battery power that doesn't meet your standards. Any phone would with your sort of usage. heavy use = more battery power used. I'm amazed by how you people expect your phones to last a week with the usage you have

donnnnn't blame you. I was all excited about getting mine enough to drive out to take a look at it (the retail store is about a 15-20 minute drive, but it's really out of the way and off-campus.

there's basically no smartphone out there with super long lasting battery life on heavy usage. (why lar still no Fuel Cell technology yet.. X3 ) So, stop b****ing on the battery life and TAKE THE CHARGER and charge it whenever u can! wink.gif

SLCD is quite fine. But don't compare wit screen on phones like SGS, IP4... obviously both tis phone has slightly more superior screen. Why Pixel Perfect? And common, u all buy PHONE or buy SCREEN oh?

We all should blame Samsung, they never supply enough AMOLED screen to HTC. tongue.gif

It's inconvenient to take a charger. And not every location is a charger-friendly area.

The screen is a big factor in decision-making when buying a touchscreen smartphone. It's the main way you interact with the phone.

It's not Samsung's fault. It's HTC's fault for relying too much on Samsung and not knowing how to innovate in screen technology. Apple doesn't use S-AMOLED but came up with its own unique IPS screen.
