Hi ya. all my gameloft game it downloaded to SD card when it 1st run. Few days impression on Virtuous vs stock not much different. Just a slightly overclocked processor 9xx Mhz. And the reason i flash over is because of it's swype and trackball wake, and hoping a longer battery life. By the way usually i only left 120MB left after killing all appz, is that normal? Well android is pretty consuming as it's given 512 mb man..

The Sense interface is sort of a memory hog. If you try out an AOSP ROM, you'd be surprised at the amount of free memory you will have. tongue.gif

How to physically differentiate early and late batches?

Impossible tongue.gif

Unless you meddle it yourself, things you can try out is keyboard rigidity and / or hinge rigidity.

Came across this while I was stray surfing. Never knew the DZ/G2 has something similar to a scratch resistant screen:

I don't think HTC employs Gorilla Glass, its never mentioned officially and the gorilla glass website does not mention that too.

Maybe mineral glass perhaps? hmm.gif

the ones they sell in garage sales are ok. I bought both my case and protector from lhongwuh.

@calex, in Corning's website they do mention that there're some brands that they are not allowed to speak openly about. Speculation goes that HTC is reluctant to talk about this.

Whatever it is, it's sufficiently scratch-resistant to be compared to Gorilla Glass, huh? haha
*
Funny thing it is true then, not wanting to boast about a selling point hmm.gif

But still, glass is glass. And one good poke will scratch it for sure laugh.gif

EDIT : I take that back about what I said about poking. Take a look at this Dell Streak getting poked to near oblivion sweat.gif

Meego is technically Linux in its core, so the structure should be similar. A port perhaps? drool.gif

If you want to try vanilla android, CM6.1.1 is good to go.

The waiting will never end one. Tegra 3 with Quad Core is on NVIDIA's road map.

Its the age of CM7 now~ brows.gif

But of course, if the worries of instability are still there, CM 6.1.1 is fine too.

Quad core? What's next? 8? rclxub.gif

CM7 on the Vision is having on and off bugs. Wouldn't recommend it to first timers considering you need to manually (ie non-ROM Manager method) flash back CWM 2.5 to restore your Froyo backups.

It's crazy how fast these phones are advancing. Imagine in 2005 the fastest clockspeed on a phone at that period was my old Nokia 6630 @ 220 MHz. 2009 HTC Hero @ 528HMz (not fastest, just citing speed). All of a sudden 2010 we have 1GHz Nexus One. Now 2011 we're in the age of dual core 1 GHz, end of 2011 we'll see quad core 1.5GHz.

(4 years to grow 300MHz, ~4  months to grow 400 MHz, 1 year to grow one core, another year to grow 2 cores)

The period between these things getting updated significantly is reduced exponentially, which is as the Moore's Law predicted.

But there must be a point where the the processing power of smartphones is as good as it gets, right?
*
Never ignore Moore's Law.. tongue.gif Wiki it if you don't know what I mean. smile.gif

Things advance as time goes by, but one that advances in an insane speed is handphones. Not too long ago many are delighted with a simple camera on their phone (remember Nokia 7650? First locally available camera phone, with 0.3MP resolution) but now? There are even some that wont be satisfied with 8MP, or 12 even. shakehead.gif

Regarding Sense UI, I quote myself:
*
There's this confusion among a launcher and a UI.
To make things simple, here's my summary. smile.gif

A custom UI (User Interface) consists of a bunch of additional apps, modified stock apps (eg. Dialer), and a customized Launcher. It also consists of a modified framework.apk. Custom UI's you normally encounter are: Sense UI (HTC), Touchwiz UI (Samsung), MotoBLUR (Motorola), and Breeze (Acer).

Some Launchers of the said UIs cannot be used unless the framework.apk is included, like Sense for example. While some can be partially ported (Touchwiz launcher can be installed into another phone, but no Samsung Widgets nor any samsung apps)

A Launcher on the other hand, only changes the home interface. Like how LauncherPro and ADWLauncher does. The rest of the apps (Dialer, Music) are the same as it were before (meaning if you were using a stock android, even with the launcher it'll just remain stock).

wow, i taught that HD is better than DZ..
I got think before to change to HD from DZ ..
but i guess is because low demand on DZ.. since ppl usually go for HD as they wanted higher pixel camera as well as larger screen.
Somemore i also hard to find accessories for DZ, while i saw bunch of accessories for HD..

Well this is my upload for full nandroid stock backup (incd some games), it takes sometime for me to upload as it's 338MB..
here's the link :: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XXMRV1QC
And please, i did sign in my google acc on my stock be4 backup, so if you using it, kindly please sign out from my account..

i really cant remember what the exact version of RUU of my desire z, i just know it's hongkong AP set..
*
A question, how did you even get a stock nandroid backup? Cause you have to root and all to even do a nandroid. hmm.gif

I'm using MIUI on the Nexus One, and its really slick.

Basically what MIUI does is that it makes it look as close to the iOS as possible. The menu structure, the settings, the overall UI is made and changed completely to resemble the iOS. Even the menus are changed to white and the on/off toggles of the iOS are used.

The main reason why I use it though is that it also changes the stock apps. Again, making them resemble the iOS. But some of them is really good, for example, the dialer looks exactly like the one in iOS and includes smart dial and the likes. As well as the SMS app.

Some things are modded to give it a unique feel too. Like for example the stock music app is changed to MIUI's own one. It automatically searches for lyrics, has folder play, and even has a visual EQ. That EQ even displays on the lockscreen in real time, and is smooth, not laggy.

Of course, it might not be everyone's taste, since it basically resembles the iOS so much. sweat.gif

looking for good quality screen protector and casing...any recommendation?

btw, for ap set, can we register ourselves at the htc e-club? although my set is ap, but my imei is the same with the imei on the box. i thought ap set, the imei won't be the same?
*
Then you're lucky. They used the box that came with your phone. The reason why most ap sets' is different is because they usually take a random box with a random phone. Like sometimes you bought a white phone but the box they gave you states its black.

Casings? Otterbox is always my answer tongue.gif
