It's already 1 month since HTC Desire Z was supposed to be dispatched since I pre-ordered when it was first launched! It has been delayed for 3 times now and the latest date of dispatch is 5th November, so I hope they don't delay it anymore!!

G2 is not larger in memory. Both Desire Z and G2 have 4GB internal storage, but only 1.5GB is available to the user.

The real difference is the G2 uses stock Android while Desire Z uses Android + HTC Sense UI, that's all. Otherwise, it's all supposed to be the same.

As what I wrote on the desire hd thread, I went to HTC concept store at lowyat plaza last week, the salesgirl told me that they will only sell desire hd and z starting next year. However, she didn't say which month.

the 4GB on the G2 has been restricted to 1.5GB of usable space, so there's no difference in 'usable space'. Rumors say that the 2.5GB of missing space is taken up by the ROM image that currently inhibits permanent rooting.

It seems the spring load of the z-hinge (should trademark it as 'Zinge ™' lol) is a conscious choice by HTC:

G2 and Desire Z both have slightly different keyboard layouts and also, G2 supports Band I and IV for UMTS while for Desire Z, it supports Band I and Band VIII
