QUOTE(ThisIsBoletaria @ Nov 3 2010, 10:24 AM) G2 is not larger in memory. Both Desire Z and G2 have 4GB internal storage, but only 1.5GB is available to the user. I see.. becoz I read GSM arena 1 shoe 4GB another show 1.5GB.. i tot there is the different...The real difference is the G2 uses stock Android while Desire Z uses Android + HTC Sense UI, that's all. Otherwise, it's all supposed to be the same. |

QUOTE(spunkberry @ Nov 11 2010, 10:33 PM) heavy usage means you're gonna use up more battery! hello? my phone lasts 24 hours, but I don't use it very heavily. also, you shouldn't be draining the battery to nothing. of course... why not? It's a smartphone with wifi, bluetooth and gps capabilities with constant syncing of facebook, twitter and whatever else you have running. The phone is always running, and that already uses battery. Add in heavy usage, and you expect it to last more than 16 hours? Seriously? my phone running MSN, sync Tweeter, FB, pingchat and heavy surfer... it last me 2 days... a device mean to be use.. when u wanna use it.. heavy or not.. it should last, at least, 1 days.. Added on November 11, 2010, 11:01 pmforgot to add.. it sync 3 email accounts real time too... This post has been edited by BuFung: Nov 11 2010, 11:01 PM |

it is kind of lame to argue becoz of wanna win an argument..
who need to On the Wifi/Bluetooth/GPS always? a Desire Z probably last 5 hours if all those on.... beside, if spunkberry you are talking to me.. yes.. my 3 email are Real Time, I am pretty sure it sync faster than your Desire Z.. and yes all my messenger/FB are real time too... and, this is a discussion thread, we need open discussion about bad and good, pro and cons of the device.. not like those ifag, androidfag, nokiafag to keep only praising the device.. the device battery life are not good enough for some of us, that is a fact. end of story and we try to look for way to improve.. that's all... |

QUOTE(michael9413 @ Nov 12 2010, 03:27 PM) No need to argue about the battery life... it sucks, I'm using wildfire with my usage it can't last 16 hours of my working day but I don expect it to last that long with 3G on... the worst is I'm using gsm network also it won't last that long... U tak suka.. u carry a spare battery... hahahahahahaha... my usage it is sync company mail hourly, sms about 10 msg, about 2 hours talk time and small amount of time for gaming or surfing online... last till 5pm left 20% or worst 10% only... I plan to get either desire z or hd. hopefully the battery life will be better... |

For me, It defeat the smartphone purpose if u need to carry spare batt... Enuff said... A lot of ppl complaint about the battery life, means that is a fact, don mean that there is no such problem if it is enuff juice for u to last for a day or two... I Jus thope there is a slightly better batter life for smartphone... |

why the battery issue are still round n round here??
the Desire itself have 1400mAH battery which is better than this newer DesireZ, the samsung wave have such a slim n small body have 1500mAH battery.... Bold II have so much smaller size indeed have 1500mAH too... and a lot more... all those are smart phone can complete the job like DesireZ.... and again this is an open forum ppl are welcome to discuss or share good n bad about the phone.. it will be very good if HTC design the compartment of the phone slightly bigger and make it able to slot in a battery with 1800mAH or 2000mAH... cannot accept the bad comment which is a fact to the phone and ask ppl to get other phone which simply sound like an ifag.. fanboy-ism.. It doesn't help manufacturer to improve if everyone like that... |

QUOTE(spunkberry @ Nov 21 2010, 10:53 AM) I don't think it's that we don't accept bad comments ... but make the comments reasonable. 16 hours on a smartphone that syncs emails, fb, twitter, wifi, gps and bluetooth, bad? Really? Even the mac airs don't last that long, and they run on ipod hard-drives!! my point there is ... if the battery can make a bit bigger isn't that good? 1800mAH maybe... and it can stretch it to maybe 24 hours... that is more than welcome.. maybe not for u... Otherwise, negative points of the phone by all means! u ON ur Wifi/GPS/bluetooth all the time? u sure your phone can last 16 hours with all that ON?? if not try not to give those mislead info.... there are a lot more phone wt the same function can last well more than 16hours.. more than 24hours.. or even more... not those "brick" u talking about.... Added on November 21, 2010, 12:12 pm QUOTE(mikecmy @ Nov 21 2010, 12:09 PM) finally got my hands on desire Z! ffuuh.. mic.. U always have the very first hand source... Seriously a good phone! Here's a pic to poison you guys.. Running on 2.2 android [attachmentid=1896143] no longer can contact u in ur BB.. no more using? or block me? QUOTE(michael9413 @ Nov 21 2010, 01:31 PM) he said around RM2200... my msn on my phone almost 24hours a day... fren, their 16 hours use is nothing for a guy like me... average my wildfire can last me 12 hours on GSM network but not 3G, and my use is on heavy side and their kind of use is low to moderate... try to surf net on your phone for 30 minutes u will see how fast the battery drops, especially those without mobile site or more simple site for smartphones... yesterday morning my battery drops 30%++ just from 8am till 12pm... coz i'm using chatting program (since 8am till 12pm), surfing agoda.com for hotels (about 45 minutes) and calling some one (about 30+ minutes)... or download some attachment in emails and read documents and see... u will realise that the battery life goes down... and my phone brightness is not even 50%... i duno why they don agree that we need a bigger capacity battery which make the phone last long... really another 200mAh really helps sometime but if it is heavier by 10g is it really important??? i used a Sharp 903 (JP Phone) b4, and it weights about 140g... and i don give a damn of it where i can get good camera and ergonomics value... i think no need argue with them as they think their usage is great, but there is a lot more others ppl runing around outside needs more... cheers... I am kind of heavy surfer on my phone too... but the phone really impressive doing 2 days at least for it's battery.. end of the day.. any phone have to be last at least 1 day for whatever usage... don't tell me I am lazy to charge or whatever.. those are pointless arguement.. dont tell me to leave my phone on car to charge or don't ask me go find hotel room to charge phone when I am travelling.. I hope that is enough... @andrewlim.. yah... they should put in a higher mAH batt... |

QUOTE(spunkberry @ Nov 22 2010, 12:50 AM) it looks fragile, but as long as you don't make a habit of flipping the phone open and close for no reason you should be fine. the hinge is built to flip the phone open with the weight. QUOTE(philippecr @ Nov 22 2010, 12:39 PM) Don't scare lar. The phone named as Desire "Z" for the iconic reason. The hinge is not made of plastic, it's made by some kind of metal and it doesn't seems to break easily. Nice photo n good for explaining.. rather than simply pointless defending .. thumb up... |

QUOTE(spunkberry @ Nov 22 2010, 01:01 PM) you talking about me? I wasn't defending the hinge. I was telling you that your definition of scary is very big and kinda on the thoughtless side. Why build a phone whose hinge breaks at the smallest flip? no la.. dont be so sensitive.. I m talking about generally... have to explain to ppl why it is not fragile is u think so.. must have reason to back up then only ppl won't doubt mah.... QUOTE(jacksonywl @ Nov 22 2010, 06:35 PM) Is it true that when the keyboard is closed, the whole phone feels 'wobbly' when using just the touchscreen? As in the connection of the top and bottom not firm enough, makes you feel there's minor space to move when you hold them? it need a very strong spring to hold both of them firmly like 1 piece.... like the N97 is really firm... hope the Z same too.. but some review say it is not... |
