That card is around RM200++ and Kave is aorund RM300++
All together should be around RM500++ then . .  rclxub.gif

kinda not worth it in my opinion, unless you can afford it, then it will be another story . .

You will like Kave alot if you insist on real 5.1 surround sound brows.gif

only M17x is FULLY capable of handling 5.1 configuration, as explained by Julchin below. you need 4 input jacks including 1 for microphone.

when you use Kave with M15x, certain physical speaker inside the headphone itself will not functioning due to no input.

even if you are using it with onboard sound chipset from M17x, the subwoofer effect is nowhere near a level it supposed to be heard, or vibrate to poison you more. plus, you can't find any sound driver that capable of handling Kave except the one that supplied with my external soundcard.
So the sub-woofer is the vibration.. rclxub.gif

I using cepalang sound card.. No wonder didn't vibrate or any difference when i move the Sub-Woofer control at the Desktop Controller doh.gif

So far i also never feel vibration on Kave..
*
you never felt one because i guess you are using with onboard sound chipset. thats why.

QUOTE(julchin_09 @ Oct 17 2010, 11:03 PM)
M15x also only has 3. 2 Earphones and I mic. Salesperson told me I would need the Full Fledge Soundcard jacks to use the Kave and told me if I didn't it would be a waste...
*
the salesperson is right. you need 3 jack input excluding 1 for mic, to fully unleased 5.1.

how good you can tweak it, based on your sound driver.

how quality is the 5.1 sound produced, based on your soundcard hardware.

QUOTE(JustinLFJ @ Oct 17 2010, 11:15 PM)
How bout the Creative external usb soundcard? Docter also using it
*
thats the best for portable.

believe me, when i use something, i want the best tongue.gif

you go and try first. then you can talk about money. it seems money is not matter anymore once you experience 5.1 when gaming brows.gif

Enabling Surround Sound

The primary function of the SigmaTel Audio Control Panel is to allow the system to be connected to external speakers for surround sound. By clicking on any of the large icons on the Jack Setup tab, a pop-up menu is displayed. One of the options on the menu will be to configure the connector for one of the surround speaker settings. This still requires the user to connect the correct speakers to the correct connector, as each connector only has one surround sound option.

The surround sound speaker designations are as follows:

Far left connector (pink) - for MIC / not used in 5.1 sounds system
Left connector — Front speakers
Middle connector — Center / LFE speaker
Right connector — Rear Speakers

the default soundriver provided can be pawned by SRS Audio Sandbox, yet, SRS Sandbox is easily pawned by Creative Console Launcher due to high options of tweaking.

for all dell system there is 2 type of parts, one is FRU (Field removable unit - done by Dell certified technician) and CRU (Customer removable unit)
Removing CRU yourself wont void the warranty, and FRU is only recommended to Dell certified technician and removing this parts yourself will void the warranty.
but if you get help over the phone on removing this FRU parts, it wont void the warranty. if you dont know which parts is FRU and CRU, you can call the help line and get advice.
helpline are open 24hours for customers with warranty. also if you notice, Dell does not use warranty sticker like other brand, so if you know how to stop your system, no one know you open it.

2) well if you unplug it, drained the batt to critical level and store it in a cool (27c or lower) compartment you are actually preserving if not only prolonging its life. However the risk as to what Eugene91 has said it there and you could accidently lose power and you notebook will be forced off losing info and files if not damaging your Mobo.
Okay, assuming that I have removed the battery from M15x and there is an unexpected power cutoff, at most it is just an improper shutdown to the laptop, similar to any desktop, right? I could get corrupted files here and there with missing documents, but for worst case scenario, I may just reinstall the Windows. For this, there should not be any damage to the laptop, right? I do not really understand how power cutoff can cause motherboard failure. I mean that if there is a possible risk of motherboard failure, why would still people remove the battery? Unless they have some sort of power backup connected.

Alienware experts here, please advice. icon_question.gif Thanks.
