I have been doing this for years and I do not see any harm. Infact my phone is always on charge whenever I am near a power plug or while in the car |

am trying this one now. i can't tahan my 2.3 version now. hopefully this core droid is good.. the reason why i'm changing to this is because of the camera flash which wasn't working in all his releases. |

I do not normally recommend any specific android rom for hd2 other than quoting a few favorites of mine. My favorites does not necessary mean others will like it. However I would like to digress and highly recommend MIUI , it is amazingly fast, stable, absolutely no freezes at all and easily record quadrant scores of 1550 to 1650 without any tweaks. I see the only factor which will turn off potential users is the user interface which is more iPhone like. I like especially the creation of folders and you can load several apps into such folder. The folder will appear as an icon, tap on it and you see all the apps you have allocated to it
Bootup time is even faster than my nexus and galaxy s |

Most probably you downloaded the wrong maps. Check again. Papago X5 works perfectly on my HD2 Android, Nexus and Galaxy S ( using the same copy of software and maps )tried initalizing..but it says unable to load maps from external memory? |

I'm on HyperDroidEvo 1.1 now. Darkstone said he won't be bothered with DesireHD camera issue until Ace comes out and he's involved in NAND now. So, I needed a good overall rom meantime. HyperDroidEvo 1.0 data problem is resolved and it's working well for me.
I tried the MIUI and got a freeze screen and had to pull out the battery. A few preloaded programs still have the chinese interface but the rom is nice and quick. Definitely worth checking out if you are shopping for a rom. |

wow discovered something interested!
combined mdeejay evosense v.15 with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=777921 using this file HAVS-BFQ-OC-UV-AXI_925mv-0.1.b.zip and after i've installed it with that combination. wow the speed is FAST! the only cons is i have to disable my auto rotate cause it may hang after that. but otherwise it's freaking fast! Did you replace the XML file in data/data/com.android.phone , you need use exile explorer and have root activated in settings to access these hidden files. So far in all my tests of various roms including Matt I did not have such reboot issues. I am on stock WinMob and Class 2 SD card since day one on HD2. Stock WinMob because I'll never use 6.5 and Class 2 SD card to gauge the rom smoothness.
Recent roms have dealt with the G-Sensor problem and we got virtually no freeze screen, landscape/portrait rotation problem and general speed increase moving across home screens. |
