No GPS problem for me, I think it's mainly for the US people.
Papago - follow their website instructions. You need to copy a folder into ur internal SD card to get it working. The app is just a launcher for the actual program.

Hey guys, I know you all have been discussing about the FW and root but i still couldnt really understand. Sorry ya, android is totally new for me.
Will appreciate if you all can help me with this.

I wish to flash my SGS to a new FW, so I should root my SGS first then only flash it rite? If i use adb, my data & programs wont be deleted? adb=android debug bridge?

What FW do you recommend?

p/s: i spent my whole week to finish V2, worry that by the time i finish v3, u all at v5 d...so decided to skip v3 and join you all now.

my connection icon doesnt show 3G.. it shows H instead..user manual never say what is H..only G=GPRS, E=Edge, 3G=3G.. apa H ini..

This is real insane when u thought of 1ghz is already fast, quadcore is crazy wonder hw big will the batt be...

Added on September 10, 2010, 2:59 pmAlthough the hardware part is advancing rapidly, bt the software part is slow... Hooefully v will see better software architecture in near future to harness the true power of the hardwares

I've purchased and just took receipt of these batteries from ebay and I'm currently using the first one after charging the 2 batteries (total RM49 worth the price). So far the battery do work, but whether they're as good as the original one will only know after a few more charge cycles.

So far quite happy with the purchase and relieved to know that I won't run out of batteries now smile.gif. I just ensure that I have one fully charged one with me in case need to use it.

For those who are interested, the link is included below.

I tend to agree with you. IMHO, it is a waste of money just to have the bragging rights that you own the most advanced phone tongue.gif. If the OS is not optimized to harness this extra power or there's no software that can claim to be able to utlize the new features, what's the point then?

End up you have the fastest smartphone in the world but only use it to make phone calls and occasional PIM and some other light stuffs. If the OS can keep up and there's applications like multimedia and games that can extract the power of the hardware and most importantly the price is not over-the-roof, then it is worth considering.

Hi,

I had downloaded One Click Lag Fix from android market.
Ran the root function from the app, and it instructed me to go into recovery mode.

When I try to go into the recovery mode, no matter how many times I tried, my phone keep starts normally.
Can't go in the recovery mode.

I'd try all the below:

A) Vol. Up + Home + Power, release when first Samsung logo appear

B) Vol. Up + Home + Power, Keep holding it throughout

C) Vol. Up + Home + Power, release Power button only when first Samsung logo appear

And many more combinations, which still doesn’t work.

When I search the internet, I realised a number of people cant get into recovery mode as well but no one seems to know the reason.

Any Sifu can help me?

My phone are supposed to be locked to O2 (UK provider) and Im in UK.

Many thanks.

well,we never knows...
like PC why we need quad core, dual core, etc?

if there is fast processor around, devs will take this chance to create an app or others to make sure it optimized the processor and gain more improvement

just my 2 cents

For me to enter recovery, I do neither of the 3 methods that was pointed out.

This is what I need to do to enter recover.

Vol up + home + power on, once samsung logo etc comes on, Release power button for 1 second, then press power again.

recovery mode pops up in 3 seconds.

Doing any of the 3 combination pointed out for me doesn't work. Mine is one of the earlier batches that got stock JF4

Thanks a lot,

Tried again and again, no luck…

I think I don't know enough to do other method to root it.

Do you all think this lag issue will be addressed during Froyo update?
