i also doubt it.
maybe unifi migrates can try to ask Maxis about the penalty claim.
no harm to ask.
if its true, there will be many unifi users will jump ship.

is that possible to change tel port to lan port coz tel wire and LAN wire have different cable config.
AFAIK LAN port can change to Tel Port, but Tel to LAN port, have to depend on the cabling config. coz Tel cable use less wires than LAN cable.

The easiest way is to use homeplugs.
*
depend on cabling confiq, then u mention use homeplug..
hmm..quite confusing here

the cabling config I mean for the Tel Port.

Homeplug is an alternative way. so dont have to tarik long LAN cable upstairs.
But homeplugs are a bit pricey.
*
yeah..aztech's is rm199 for 1..so x2 is rm398..
might as well buy a 15-20m cable..
much more cheaper than that.

*just an opinion to save cost. money is important*

how to config if like that?
from rj11 --> rj45

Actually network port are using 2 pair cable which is 1,2,3 and 5 only. the other cable is for power supply like POE port

Added on June 19, 2012, 1:45 pmEasy way to configure, Huawei/ZTE modem plug in the RJ11, RJ45 port to Thomson router WAN link. 1 of the Thomson RJ45 port to patch panel at 2nd floor, and patch panel location out orange + green pair to the network point you need to install.

Added on June 19, 2012, 1:47 pmThis applicable at RJ21 Telco cable as well smile.gif, but if cable go too long will be take some time for the signal routing.

Added on June 19, 2012, 1:50 pm

how to config if like that?
from rj11 --> rj45  <== This need your modem help you to translate the analog signal to digital signal like what huawei modem does.

I want share my experience with this MHF application thing.  Submitted thru Maxis dealer end May.  Called 1800 _ _ _ after 2 weeks.  No record found.  Resubmitted direct to Maxis KLCC 2nd week June.  Told to wait latest the following week for call.  No return call.  Check wifi coverage of my installation address.  Its landed property located along a straight road but locality somehow partitioned into Taman Salak Selatan as well as Taman Seri Petaling.  No wonder this mess.  Contacted Dr Pitchard regarding my problem and disappointment and ask for advice.  Resubmitted thru Dr Pitchard with unifi coverage map and received confirmation of installation date the next day, although its only in early August.  I would like to thank Dr Pitchard for his kind assistance and congratulate Maxis for having such rare dedicated staff.  Do keep up your good work, Dr Pitchard.

dr pitchard is good!
i submitted to him..but that was before my house was covered..
after covered, i asked him to put in very fast!

Thanks for the compliments. Well, to customers, its a good thing, but most probably I'm disliked by many internally for being a bad guy with all the non-stop follow up calls and emails, always pushing people..... ><"

Alas, can't help all my customers and some are still having issues (not yet get call even after 2weeks+ or area still not covered...)

Will certainly continue on barking....LOL
*
haha..
lucky me they called exactly 2weeks as promised as the 1st time they called (less than 22hrs after i submit to Dr Pitchard) as my house not covered yet at that point of time..
after covered, 3days later they called me..

Why go through the hassle to modify & installing cable when you can go cabless.......
*
how much u bought it? the price is for each or pair?
coz i saw it is only for 1..
so need to buy 2 boxes then cn get a pair..
still need cable..but use up power socket..unless u put it at an extension, then ok la..

usually aztech sold in 1 unit. u can buy a pair in a box like dlink or tplink. estimated budget rm200+. recommended straight directly to wall socket. i advice u buy those with extra 3 pin socket. so u can plug other pheripherals on top the homeplug.
*
kinda pricey..might as well i save my using cables..
landed houses not that long..since the devices will be at the centre of the house (top-bottom, front-back)

QUOTE(phantasm0110 @ Jun 20 2012, 10:12 AM)
ya, i read about it should be around 1.1 - 1.2MB/s
would give it a few day first, if still same will need to call maxis.
any idea why im not getting optimum speed?
*
mayb it is because the line outside-inside M'sia..
or their server have too many people accessing it..
it could be lots of possibalities

what's the full name?

besides we can define manual VLAN assignment. that matches with setting from maxis. i am not sure if that worked or someone tried it...

if it works, maxis user will have a brand new life  notworthy.gif
*
that is the full name
or u can call it "mobile 1"
only 3 major provider in singapore: singtel, starhub, m1
