Good Android devices will never encounter those problems. Even my 2y-old HTC Dream doesn't. Android is very good, smooth, responsive, and very customizable.

Of course, it mostly depends on the phone's hardware.

Damn 838 Pro... always hang on me too, especially when I suddenly open the keyboard while on call.

But don't worry, Android no such issue. I only forcefully restart once when I tried to open a large image when suddenly call comes in. Been using the Magic for more than 1 year.

...and it doesn't lag like WinMo. smile.gif

Instead of asking you to buy one straight away, you should visit Digi SOHOKL in Solaris Mont Kiara or Maxis Center in KLCC to try out the phone itself. For Digi, they are showing a HTC Legend and I believe Maxis has a HTC Desire there (not too sure as I went during HTC roadshow).

Try liao then only think... this way sure no regret... I also tried liao then only buy...

The best thing is that can compare to Iphone side by side...

One thing... either one also not bad...

If you have a lot of friends with Iphone, might as well just get it... or if you wanna try something new, Android would be the answer. If you are totally new with smartphone, I would heavily suggest you try the Iphone first before you commit with Android.

Been using xt720 for quite some time, it only restarts when I instruct it to. Not just this phone, I think all android phones are stable, in stock condition of course.

Get one from a reputable company, not generic hardware slapped with android.

I'd like to add on that you can also try the following:

Samsung galaxy 3
Samsung galaxy 5
Google N1
Huawei's offering
SE X10

Well, why not?
They dominate the 3G mobile broadband hardware market and seem to be offering pretty good hardware for phones.
Just because they're not popular doesn't mean their business itself isn't reputable.

Although I don't own any of their stuff yet, to my knowledge, I look to purchase one of their mobile broadband hardware stuff.

Android never hangs on STOCK rom, customized roms might have a lil bit problem

Tends to slow down if toooo many background apps..

Try iPhone for total carefree phone..

Try Android 4 more user-orientated feeling biggrin.gif

ask urslf why u need to get a smartphone?
do u hv a purpose 2 use de features on a regular basis? e.g. do u like to internet, play games on such a small screen?

if u love to xplore de fones functions and gets excited when u can gain slight speed increase in benchmark or change themes, fonts of de fone, android system is suitable 4 u.

depending on ur usage, u definitely need xtra batteries or two.

on de other hand, if u just want a phone dat has de best design/looks, dat juz works with all de apps (productivity/games/travel/etc), u shld choose iphone.

if none of de above, juz get a nokia e72.

Iphone is a joke. Apple gives out a new phone with a new OS frequently, and you have to buy the new phone to use the new OS. If you're using android, you just have to buy the phone once, and you can always upgrade to a newer OS for free. Opensource ftw!

What's the point of new OS, when the new OS requires a higher hardware component, which are not available @ ur outdated phone?
