Ungine is more stressful than Furmark.
*
There is another stress and stability test that can be performed which I would categorise as the motherlode of all such tests is the Stanford's Folding@home high performance GPU3 client for NVIDIA graphic cards (Fermi). Just run it for a day and if your graphic card's OC can complete every work units successfully without stoppage then it's a confirmed solid pass with flying colours.

If it crashed, don't be discouraged ...just try again. I'm not going to lie to you since it's a painfully challenging process and experience.

If it burned, then do an RMA asap knowing that you've gotten rid of a weaker graphic card which did not rise to the occasion of our lofty goals.

Hi....After 1 year i using ENGTX460 DirectCU TOP/2DI/1GD5, now only just want to try overclock my gc...tongue.gif

becoz if i use stock setting...i cannot run BF3 at ultra max setting...sad.gif........hehe

Actually...just want to ask what's the max and safe overclock setting that i can go with my current situation:

Core Vlatage : 1.012V (stock)
Core Clock : 775MHz (stock)
Shader Clock : 1550MHz (stock)

Memory Clock : 2000 MHz (stock)

Fan Speed : Auto (stock)

temp when running furmark with room temp(non aircond):
casing cover closed : 84C
casing cover open : 80C

hmm.gif ..........

Set your fan speed to 60% and set your core clock to 850. But overclocking it won't help much anyway

hmm..... is that mean i no need to adjust the voltage if set at 850?..... hmm.gif ...
and memory clock also no need set?...

Try setting your voltage for 1050? It's all up to your unit

lol~~

........ it will be a long story to tell about what's happen to my card now....XD.........

Anyway, my card cap was burn when i set:

Core Voltage : 1.075V
Core Clock : 875MHz
Shader Clock : 1750MHz
Memory Clock : 2200 MHz
Fan Speed : 95%

When running furmark, temp hit until 93C, after 6-7 mins...caps burn and pc restart.....
.
.
XD

so, it was my bad that overshoot the voltage too high....><....

but after that.... i'm able to get back new card with warranty claim ( not sure how to check is RMA or new coz come whole set with box)..... thumbup.gif

Now my new card is way batter that be4... im able to run MSI Kombustor at 67C when fan speed 50%(auto) , 59C when fan at 80%... stock setting...

too hot! avoid stressing at insanely high temp like 93C.

This means your overclocking is likely to be unstable, either you overclock it too high, it's too hot or you just need to compensate with more Vgpu.

If I OC my GTX570, it will decrease the card lifespan?

OC or stock clocks?
Instability could be due to overheat, bad OC, insufficient power, bad driver, bad GPU bios

I think nobody would know how long is their GC is going to survive, even on stock clocks.

GTX570 also has OC edition so i think why would these manufacturers want to shorten their product lifespan

if that's the case then I think your card needs more juice or it just hit its limit of stable clock.

My physics score is quite poor. But GPU wise all good.

hilmiangah is right. Your CPU is bottlenecking the system thus yielding a low score.
IMO it's time to upgrade to a quady. nod.gif

I have a question. I tried to overclock my Gigabyte GTX570 using MSI's afterburner. But I can't find any way to adjust the core voltage as it seems to be disabled. I already chose "Unlock voltage control". Is there any other way to change the voltage?
