So it means that the temperature very much related with the voltage. Am i right?
*
the same thing applies to CPUs

Sifu Owikh... My GPU can't do 875 also... 850 only...can't increase voltage in MSI AfterBurner...
My GPU is the one in the siggy.
BTW how to fold with GPU? sweat.gif

PSU also affect ur max OC. My last GTX480SLI I could go 880 with HX1000, but AX1200 allows me to do 900.
To adjust voltage in AB, go to Settings under Safety Properties, tick "Unlock Voltage Control" and "Unlock Voltage Monitoring", clock OK and restart the prog.

maybe my Acbel 500W limiting me? In furmark it kills the nVidia driver sweat.gif

yes, I think u should upgrade ur PSU.
off topic. SilverStone GOLD series is coming by next week heard a lot cheaper than Corsair.

IMO, overclocking is getting the most out of the current hardware sweat.gif
so upgrading doesn't seem worth it to me. sweat.gif

i OC using MSI afterburner, i did select save profile, then apply.  Checked it in GPU-Z, it did state overclock.  But everytime I restart computer, the graphics card will return to its default settings.  Why is this happening?

click on the small circle at the lower left corner "apply overclocking at system start up

Gee, thanks.  Stupid me not to notice that.

I wanna run Unigene.  When I first launch it, there is a windows menu with lots of options.

API:  I select DX11
Stereo 3D:  I select disabled
Shaders:  low, medium, high (i select high)
Tesselation:  disabled, moderate, extreme (I select extreme)
Anisotropy: 1-16 (i select 16)
Anti-alliasing: 2x, 4x, 8x (i select 8x)
fullscreen:  I check the option
resolution: 1680x1050 (my LCD resolution)

Do i just leave them default and click run?  Or should I set something?  I do notice if i select any options for stereo 3D, the unigene will crash.

coz ur monitor is not 3D? sweat.gif

Ran Unigine.  My score as attached.  I tried OC my GPU. Default was 725/1800/1450 (core/memory/shader).  I manage to go to 825/2000/1650 and unigine can finish benchmark.  Highest temperature clocked during this setting was 75°C.  When I pushed to 850/2100/1700 unigene crashed within the first minute.  Any idea if there is a way I can do it better?

I understand now.  No wonder when I select any options under stereo 3D, the image will look blurry... then few seconds later, unigine crashed.... So normal LCD screen with no 3D function just leave stereo 3D disabled in unigine?

Is there even a 3D LCD monitor for PC yet?

try furmark. If it is below 90 then it is safe. If it increase beyond it try to increase the fan speed.
BTW is the leadtek model having a non-reference cooler?

My MSI seems to be a little higher than usual at 1.000v.

issit factory overclocked? My ASUS GTX460 is factory overclocked and overvolted. 1.025V at stock

Nope. Anyway, I googled and found that some cards do come with higher stock voltage.
So I was thinking that maybe it could OC better at stock voltage.
Turns out it would'nt go past 800 core when people are getting higher at lower voltage.
Bad card. sad.gif

just a poorer card..not totally bad. BTW, I think if you buy stock cards from the manufacturers, I think the chance for OC-ing is less...I think they do binning. So the better ones go to the OC editions.

hi guys...sorry for the noobs question sweat.gif ...what is the best stability tools software for OC'ing purpose....

im using asus gtx460 directcu top 1GB clock at 950Mhz and mem at 4300Mhz max temp at 67c...
at the moment i'm just using MSI Kombustor, set it the reso to my native 1080p and thick stability test..but clueless about others setting...from those setting no artifact in shader nor mem , manage to pass more than 15minutes....even i try yesterday run it almost 8hours still ok... hmm.gif

but what make me doubt when i play bfbc2 with dx11....it never make full use of it....most of the time utilise at 15~30% @ clock at 450Mhz & 800Mhz shader temp average 55c  rclxub.gif ..just only few times it stay at 950Mhz & 1900Mhz shader temp average 58c~62c then drop back  shakehead.gif

so i'm quite lost rite now rclxub.gif ....i just need to make sure my oc'ing stable without doubting it and am not so into benchmark...please all sifus n tailor guide me the right way to do stability test  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

thanks in advanced... rclxms.gif

anyone knows the maximum 'safe' voltage for GTX460? I want to play it safe while trying for 1Ghz.

I think I got the problem ,I hope.

I was so freaking dumb , I was connecting my 560 TI PCI -E cable to the SATA HDD PSU connector ( which is 12 v/5v/3.3v)  instead of PCI E connector ( 12v/12v/12v) ...  so obviously its not getting enough Voltage...
And Here I was wondering what is going on since most 560 ti has at least average of 950 O/C capabilities ... , getting 2 card that cant go 950 in a row sounds abit unrealistic.
I reconnect the PSU cable properly now and will report back if things happen again.
*
how you connect a SATA HDD PSU cable into a PCI-E power socket?? The plugs aren't even same shape. If you plug in the CPU 8pin into a PCI-E 8pin I can understand rclxub.gif

Hi....After 1 year i using ENGTX460 DirectCU TOP/2DI/1GD5, now only just want to try overclock my gc...tongue.gif

becoz if i use stock setting...i cannot run BF3 at ultra max setting...sad.gif........hehe

Actually...just want to ask what's the max and safe overclock setting that i can go with my current situation:

Core Vlatage : 1.012V (stock)
Core Clock : 775MHz (stock)
Shader Clock : 1550MHz (stock)

Memory Clock : 2000 MHz (stock)

Fan Speed : Auto (stock)

temp when running furmark with room temp(non aircond):
casing cover closed : 84C
casing cover open : 80C
hmm.gif ..........
*
Set your fan speed to 60% and set your core clock to 850. But overclocking it won't help much anyway
