thanks for the details. so the additions for Trollshaws, Eregion, Moria, Lothlorien and Mirkwood are questpacks right? if i do not have MoM and SoM expension pack, will i still be able to access Moria and Mirkwood locations? sorry for the silly questions.. need to confirm before i take the plunge.. biggrin.gif thanks for all replies.

What the quote meant was.. You Will Get All Trollshaws, Eregion, Moria, Lothlorien and Mirkwood without any other quest pack purchase.. so you will have everything you need to get from lvl 1 to 75.. a good purchase for someone who is just starting Lotro (like me!)

From my own personal experience, I'd say you're good to level from Eregion to Mirkwood. Essentially this is from mid 40s to 65. Trollshaws questpack however is not enough to level you from the mid 30s to the mid 40s, despite having quests at those levels. There is just not enough quests, even if you group up to do some of the fellowship quest. You'll have to supplement it with the Epic storyline (which is FOC, but a pain to do without swift travel) and skirmishes (if you don't get burned out fighting troublemakers in Tuckborough and lifting sieges in Gondamon tongue.gif)

If you have TPs to spare, might want to consider Evendim, I've read that there are enough quests to level you from 30 to 40. Evendim + Trollshaws + skirmish + epic should also be enough to push you through to 40+. You will want to be at least level 43 to do Eregion quests as the lowest level quests there are level 48.

The last alternative to grind xp via mob killing if you prefer.

i went and read up on the website.. so Siege of Mirkwood expansion and the Mirkwood quest pack is actually the same thing.

as for Moria, if we just get Legendary Rise of Isengard, we will still get the Mines of Moria quest, but we will not be getting the items below from the actual MoM expansion:

* Warden class
* Rune-keeper class
* 2 character slots
* Skirmish Trait Max Rank: 15

still its a pretty good deal smile.gif

btw... anyone knows where/how to buy RoI expansion? i don't have CC or paypal
*
As far as I know the only way to buy it is through Turbine's website (that's where I purchased it). Haven't been playing the last two week as I busted my motherboard. Only had it replaced a couple of days ago and not had time to sort everything out yet..bleh. Might drop in dwarrowdelf on a quiet night, what's your IGN?

You don't. The stats are based on your race/class and goes up accordingly to your class. For example, a hunter's agility increase by 2 every level, whereas a Guardian's vitality increases by 2 every level.

btw, would like to seek assistance  icon_question.gif  as i'm kind of a noob when it comes to MMORPGs. currently have around 100+Tp. any advise on what i should spend on?

have a question though, if i were to get the Legendary edition of ROI, will that make me a VIP member?
*
Spending any real money on the game will only promote you to a Premium member. To become a VIP member you need to actually subscribe to a monthly plan. In some games buying an expansion could net you free game time, but sadly in this case there is no VIP status with ROI.

As for spending your TP, I'd save up for a quest pack. Evendim would be the best one to buy when you get to around 30. It is also a good idea to just save up for TP and only spend them when there is a sale (which happens fairly often) which would save you between 20-30% at a time, sometimes even 50%.

Other things you might want to spend on would be the ability to ride a mount, gold cap, skirmish packs and skirmish limits.

This game is quite interesting. Despite the normal grinding for levels, you won't blindly grind for exp. but for the traits too.

Kinda dissapointed with the usage of TP for the riding skill and the swift travel locations.

Anyways, I played mostly on midnight or ad hoc time during the weekdays. smile.gif

Glad u liked it.. Send me a mail in game so I can add your name to my friends list smile.gif

The TP for Riding Skill is not that steep.. its easy to get 75 TP.. about the swift travel unlock using TP, I dont rely on that so it doesnt bother me that much..

My play time is abit sporadic.. but usually u can find me online at midnight or just before that.. as my real life commitment allows..

Ah shucks.. now I'm blushing blush.gif I didnt do that for free really.. I expect compensation after this brows.gif

Hehe.. for real thou we would need each other's help to get thru the game so we need to help each other..

Mav3rick and me had been talking about how Lotro is the perfect MMO for casual player or gamers with jobs (and family and ++).. The F2P makes it easy to play and not worry about wasting money on subscriptions.. we can just play whenever we want.. go off and on again as we please..

To illustrate how casual I'm taking this.. mav3rick has almost equal me in level even thou I've been playing longer tongue.gif

IMHO, Lotro is more toward single player experience.. there is no emphasize on getting into a guild.. and the Epic story line makes it almost as a single player RPG.. so far at least..

The gameplay is simpler, not as technical as WoW.. it lacks the sophistication and the thrill of combat in WoW ( I was a rogue - had to go behind enemy, backstab, switch weapon, do vanish, switch weapon, backstab again)..

But.. u cant go wrong with F2P.. This is good enough for me to do some adventuring and quell my MMO gaming needs..

So.. this is an invitation to all casual and mature player looking for a new MMO to call home.. give Lotro a try.. Come to Elendilmil server and add us as friends.. we'll help you out as much as we can..

My IGN is "Wujian" and I'm a Ranger, vocationing as an "Explorer"

ehehhe... of course we will be helping each other out.. i've been polishing up the Woodworker profession. due to the gold limit restrictions, i had no where else to spend the ingame $$. Decided to buy those treated rowan from Auction House and got busy.. have now reached master apprentice level. Will continue on with journeyman once i'll build back up the $$ supply.. then i can make some good bows for you.. biggrin.gif

regarding the levelling, its a one off. i had 2 whole days last friday and saturday. DOnt think i will be getting such chances anymore.. biggrin.gif

i echo mad_geist call.. casual players thinking of experimenting MMORPG do give this a try.. join us smile.gif

That is some truth to this - as Turbine has made it very solo friendly for newbie areas. I use to just play it as a single player though I occasionally joined in GB pugs - which are usually hilarious (in hindsight) as most newbies have no ideas how their classes play in a group dynamic. Often times I'd see a hunter tank the big bad while the champ is usually the first to go down. RK and Mini will be dps-specced while the warden and guard find themselves trying to get back agro. biggrin.gif

I prefer more group play than solo... because it helps the player to learn his class tongue.gif

Last thing I want is a tank who doesnt know how to tank during raids xD
