hey fellow LOTRO-ians,

recurring player. stopped for nearly a year due to other commitments. back to casual playing now. my gawd.. the updating part was freaking long.. biggrin.gif

anyways, recreated a new char

Server: Elendilmir
IGN: Ferirond
Class: Champion
Level during last logout: 14

Hopefully this time i will survive long enough to earn all the undefeated titles.. rclxms.gif

btw, would like to seek assistance icon_question.gif as i'm kind of a noob when it comes to MMORPGs. currently have around 100+Tp. any advise on what i should spend on?

would also be most happy if you guys can invite me into your kinship smile.gif

Added on September 7, 2011, 10:07 amshit.. just as i mentioned earning all the undefeated titles, i died in the most unspectacular way last night. i just completed the protecting the pipeweed farm from blackwolds. boy those guys were pretty tough with around 400+ morale. anyway, just at that point of time, i had a pretty bad stomachache and rush to the bathroom (damn chilli pan mee). next thing i saw after relieving myself was the darn grey screen with revive or restart option showing.. sad.gif

sigh.. i deleted and recreated a new character (same as above, except back to lvl 1 sad.gif ). looking on the brightside, i get to grind for more TPs

have a question though, if i were to get the Legendary edition of ROI, will that make me a VIP member?

Carry stuff mostly. You start collecting lots of stuff as time pass by. Crafting components, cosmetic items, rep items, barter items, house trophies... they grow exponentially as you level up. Some people actually buy a guild house just to get three storage chests.

But if you're a f2p/premium player, it makes sense to grind TPs with your alts too.

thanks for the advise.. i'm currently experiencing information overload. decided to put crafting off for now.. maybe i'll get back to it when i get the hang of things. btw, any suggestions on what vocation for a champion? i was thinking armourer

If you bought the Legendary Edition, you will be a Premium Member instead of the Free ones, but you wont be VIP. That I know for sure.

Btw.. add me up into your friends list later.. my IGN is "Wujian"

It turns out there are alot more Malaysian high lvl toon in Elendilmil.. wish there are more lvl20s people so I can have leveling up partners
*
thanks man. appreciate the advise. I will definitely add you but i'm back to lvl 1. it'll take me a while to get back to where i was tongue.gif

For your first toon, I suggest Explorer. You can mine metal and gather wood to sell in the auction hall (as a premium player, you get 10 slots to use for auction). Crafting resources can sell for a lot, especially in the early tiers. I recalled tin ores with some ridiculous price. In-game money is needed as training is quite expensive. Mounts too are expensive, and you want one ASAP to speed up your questing. You can probably wait much later for a house - it is a vanity project unless you really need the storage space. With money from selling crafting resources, (ore and wood) you can buy good equipment from the auction hall. I do not recommend farming and cooking for beginners. Farming is really boring while cook crafters are overloaded by so many different types of components.

You can probably survive on quest loot till lvl 55+ -- just to remember upgrade them when you get something better. Only when you start doing Moria dungeons, your items become more important. For now get your class traits up as fast as you can. They can make a lot of difference, especially when grouping up for fellowship instances like the Great Barrow.
*
this is great information indeed. many thanks!!!

btw.. am thinking of spending a bit of those TPs on unlocking some trait slots. if i unlock one slot for 1 character, will this also affect the trait slots in my other characters?

ok.. getting a hang of the game already.. especially crafting.. i should have gone with explorer.. tongue.gif i went with arms.. currently having difficulty getting some other material. guess i need to use another toon for that.. biggrin.gif

anyway guys, for the legendary isengard pack which cost, if i were to purchase it, it will unlock all current quest pack, but i will still need the MoM and SoM expansion packs to access Moria and Mirkwood right?

@azizul1975 > any requirements to be in Aurora Australis? I'm still without kin
*

What the quote meant was.. You Will Get All Trollshaws, Eregion, Moria, Lothlorien and Mirkwood without any other quest pack purchase.. so you will have everything you need to get from lvl 1 to 75.. a good purchase for someone who is just starting Lotro (like me!)
*
wow which means we will get Mines of Moria and Seige of Mirkwood expension as well?

Just send me tell/mail in game mav3rick if u need anything.. I'll try to help with questing and materials

I've yet to reach the Moria and Mirkwood to verify it myself.. but that is what I understand.. buy Legendary, buy everything u need to reach and enjoy Rise of Isen
*
i went and read up on the website.. so Siege of Mirkwood expansion and the Mirkwood quest pack is actually the same thing.

as for Moria, if we just get Legendary Rise of Isengard, we will still get the Mines of Moria quest, but we will not be getting the items below from the actual MoM expansion:

* Warden class
* Rune-keeper class
* 2 character slots
* Skirmish Trait Max Rank: 15

still its a pretty good deal smile.gif

Ah shucks.. now I'm blushing  blush.gif  I didnt do that for free really.. I expect compensation after this  brows.gif

Hehe.. for real thou we would need each other's help to get thru the game so we need to help each other..

Mav3rick and me had been talking about how Lotro is the perfect MMO for casual player or gamers with jobs (and family and ++).. The F2P makes it easy to play and not worry about wasting money on subscriptions.. we can just play whenever we want.. go off and on again as we please..

To illustrate how casual I'm taking this.. mav3rick has almost equal me in level even thou I've been playing longer  tongue.gif

IMHO, Lotro is more toward single player experience..  there is no emphasize on getting into a guild.. and the Epic story line makes it almost as a single player RPG.. so far at least..

The gameplay is simpler, not as technical as WoW.. it lacks the sophistication and the thrill of combat in WoW ( I was a rogue - had to go behind enemy, backstab, switch weapon, do vanish, switch weapon, backstab again)..

But.. u cant go wrong with F2P.. This is good enough for me to do some adventuring and quell my MMO gaming needs..

So.. this is an invitation to all casual and mature player looking for a new MMO to call home.. give Lotro a try.. Come to Elendilmil server and add us as friends.. we'll help you out as much as we can..

My IGN is "Wujian" and I'm a Ranger, vocationing as an "Explorer"
*
ehehhe... of course we will be helping each other out.. i've been polishing up the Woodworker profession. due to the gold limit restrictions, i had no where else to spend the ingame $$. Decided to buy those treated rowan from Auction House and got busy.. have now reached master apprentice level. Will continue on with journeyman once i'll build back up the $$ supply.. then i can make some good bows for you.. biggrin.gif

regarding the levelling, its a one off. i had 2 whole days last friday and saturday. DOnt think i will be getting such chances anymore.. biggrin.gif

i echo mad_geist call.. casual players thinking of experimenting MMORPG do give this a try.. join us smile.gif

Ah.. good news then, Snow's Character Aervenhad took Jewelry making as a profession.. so probably he can make those Polished Opals..

@Gaeryn : I'm thinking "Adventure Inc" or "Lowyat Adventurer" or something with "Adventure" thing in the name.. cause that is what this game is for me.. a great adventure! hehe..
*
hey mad, i think i can start making you yew bows!! i would need the yew wood though, i'll try to see if there're any in the AH tonight smile.gif as for the kin name, i was thinking maybe we can have a more middle earth-ly name.. but nothing cactchy seem to come into my mind now.. tongue.gif

QUOTE(snowfire64 @ Sep 23 2011, 12:26 PM)
I'm harcore? Haha! Oh, I could use a new weapon mav3rick, but I can only make polished opals on Journeyman, guess I have to hasten up my jewelry then. biggrin.gif

Yes, kinship sounds good. I'm up with any names you guys put it.
*
ahaha.. you're pretty hardcore to me.. i took nearly a month to reach lvl 23 smile.gif

QUOTE(ItchyKlikFinger @ Sep 23 2011, 01:01 PM)
If you still can't get any by tonight, look for me later tonight in-game. I have some stashed in my vault.

I'll be on either Thurlandros, Roardoc and Ulfi.
*

Just an observation since the Kinship is still new... Shouldn't it be Adventurers of Eriandor. Else it sounds like there's only one of you tongue.gif

Any particular classes/vocations you are short on? Can roll a char there during my free time happy.gif
*
i'm pretty sure i saw "Adventurers of Eriandor" in my kinship tab.. most probably a typo by Wujian here.. smile.gif
