price different between 24-70 & 85mm just RM 500. I might opt for flexibility. Still not sure but 85mm really sharp. Will post up some sample pic tonight wink.gif

How does the 85mm f/1.4G fare against the older 85mm f/1.4D? So far I've only tried the 85mm f/1.4D. If you've access to both please compare ^^.

I don't have both lens side by side to do comparison.
G feel so solid and sharp even on f/1.4. Color on D300s looks so sharp and nice.

The f/1.4D is sharp at f/1.4 too. Only heard this G lens is 'sharper' and is faster (more light transmission at same settings) compared to D. Currently awaiting side by side comparison.

One thing for sure, I feel focusing quite slow. Personally feel tho. I might be wrong.

You do know that if you're closer to your subject, DOF reduces right?

So yes, comparing FX and DX, let's say 100mm. The DX might be standing at say 2m away, but the FX might be 1.5m to get similar composition. Just a rough estimation.
*
Ohh yea forgot doh.gif Thanks for the explaination sifu. Haha biggrin.gif

Meaning 100mm bokeh on FX equals 70mm bokeh on DX. Right? sweat.gif
