@zdentws cause u didnt put ur maps and some files into the correct directory.

i followed exactly the Aspire's style le...

i check my "Drive" folder, inside got "Maemo" folder, and inside "Maemo" got setting.dat

is tat normal ??

for now N900 doesnt support HD resolution

why oc to 1ghz?
i dont see why people oc to 1ghz..its okay just for the lulz/phun of it
but for everyday use?? waste of battery and n900 hardware component;s life because of the heat @.@

speaking of battery..any1 using sunglobal 1500mAh battery for their n900?

Thanks a lot for the clear explanation; The thing is, many website never mentioned the RAM available; and from the phone, we can only see the internal memory; But this internal memory, which also works as swap, when full, you will get not enough memory errors when you try to open apps or sms, etc. When blasting SMS to many contacts, it'll take up internal memory which you will notice its reduced and if its not enough, there will be problems.

The problem here is, people often think the internal memory and mass storage is the same thing; when they purchase a phone like those with memory card support and another with internal storage; they often think the internal storage = internal memory which is where they got the wrong idea. For example, the N81 and N81 8GB, many people mistaken and think the 8GB version will have more internal memory but ended up having the same problem.

Thus, the issue with Nokia symbian devices are the mainly the lack of ram and internal memory. From what I know, the N95 are a bit special as it comes with much more internal memory, in terms of free memory for the device itself.
This is the main reason I hated Nokia Symbian devices and reluctant to upgrade to N97 after finding out the lack of internal memory; It was also lucky I didn't get it as N900 comes and it was good, until Nokia sort of abandon it.

It means u are outdated very simple.
Why will OC waste battery when u perform your task faster means less battery drain.
OC gives u more smoother and stable experience.

For your info if u know OC the processor doesnt always stay at max speed it only goes maximum when its necessary beside that it will go down to certain lower speed.

If u OC and whole day it stays at 900mhz yes possible to spoil the hardware but the fact is it dont

i maybe outdated but for a proc to perform faster(oc) it requires more voltage to operate..general knowledge no?

take an example:

why do u think a pc proc need to increase certain voltage to oc? why cant u just oc with same voltage as the stock speed?

more voltage = more drainage from battery
refardless your perform task faster or not..and yes oc gives more smoother and stable experience
but for everyday use..browsing web while listening to mp3? smooth enough for me

oc = heat
heat = no1 enemy in electronics component
heat = decrease electronics's life cycle

True. Different ppl prefer differently true. For me without OC or OC same battery life so i cant see the different. I been oced at 950mhz since march 2010

my battery only last 1 and half day...if browsing internet can't reach a day...

using current 1320mAh stock batt from n900..my batt only last 2 and a half hours when browsing internet lol

The N900 hasn't 1 year yet, I think you mean the same battery model as N900?

It also depends on your usage and how you charge the battery; Frequent discharge will affect it's lifespan and performance.

What connection are you using which have such short batt life? If 3G, then it will really drain your battery fast and also heat up your battery. Then depends on what kind of website you surf, those flash websites or those take require much processing power will definitely drain more.
On GSM mode (2G/2.5G), it can last much more longer.
WiFi even more longer, but ever since I'm using titan's kernel v40, the WiFi seems to consume more power even on idle.
