After watching the E3 Stage demo, I couldnt help but feeling like falling in love with the series again. No more vs. blablabla shit.
 Back to itsroots. Basically, the game is trying to emulate MKII, IMHO, the most successful in its series. But by adding new features like the x-ray vision attack thingy, this just seems way too cool to be ignored.  2011 will be the re-birth of Mortal Kombat franchise! story lines are not essential in a fighting game. its like having storyline in pron. not needed actually. |

Finally back to Mature rating, nothing like a good old reboot.
I'm playing MK vs DC Universe right now, the Fatalities and Brutalities are lame. I think its was the pressure from DC franchise, that they had to settle with a Teen rating. Yeah but I guess having a "poor" storyline is better than having nothing at all. At least you got to see the "endings" after each Arcade / Story Mode.
 But for me, it is one of the more unique games, perhaps due to its violent nature, along with Killer Instinct (We already got TEKKEN vs. SF, whynot MK vs Killer Instinct, that would awesome!) |

Apparently in a recent interview with Ed Boon, he said there are changes to the game engine compared to the initial demo last year. Can't say I notice anything cause I never touched that. Reasons for changes were to make it more "Kompetative" or tournament worthy.

Don't really care about tournament worthiness since I don't really expect anything like that out of it. Even if it did turn out "tournament worthy", the community might not latch onto it for whatever reason (track record, other games being more viable, etc).
I just hope for the ability to mess around feeling great satisfaction in seeing and feeling the characters beat the crap out of each other. Crazy combo potential is a plus too.  |

I wouldn't know anything bout tournaments myself, its a dead scene when we're talking about Fighting Game Tournaments here in Malaysia. CyberGaming is still not a sport

I heard some where before that running is a double tap on directions in MK9. Still need to wait it out till da release.

well answered.. i've played it since MK1 SEGA... loved it till MK4 (1st 3D) after that it went downhill... I still buy and play'em BUT HATED it.... im a sucker for MK... but I do give my honest opinion... like the video preview i posted here... @kabuto rider kick DUDE.......... its about time!!!! tried the demo already. i can say one thing. fans of 2d mk will be happy.
myself included. mk1 and mk2 was my favourite last time, and all the following 3d versions of mk, to me is failure. this one, looks like it will revive the 2d franchise. the demo can use sub zero, scorpion, johny cage and hot bod milleena(with a mouth that can give a nice...kiss). not bad. |

I actually liked Mortal Kombat Deception the best... ironically.
But regardless, I like the demo. Certainly MK isn't going to be deeper than any other 2D fighters, but it's deeply fun to play. One thing though... the X-ray move can get repetitive and I think there needs to be some sort of a tone down to this move... in a way. Controls are tight and solid, which is what is most important in a fighting game. Works great on the DS3. |

judging from the trailer this game has after u beat the demo, this game has alot of unlockables... which will help replay value of single player.
but i scare i cannot win mid boss only.... always got problem last time with the uber hard mid bosses b4 last boss. the centaur thing, forgot which mk was it but it was hard as hell and cheap. |

Tried the demo last night, accidentally picked Expert mode but it didn't seem too hard, was challenging. Combos flow smoothly, and fatalities easy to pull off!

 Am a great fan of MK too and I also thinks all 3D MK sux big time. I remembered sheeva's fatality when u need to press select + directional button. It's a one hard fatality to do. Wud buy if the kollector edition if got the budget. Lots of games this month (killzone3, crysis2, shift 2) im going to be broke .  |

yap.. the MK2011 demo is awesome mang.. scorpion punya combos the bestlah.. hit hit hit + high punch + teleport + teleport + high punch + get over here + x-ray = tros mati.. and summore Fatalities sudah ada move list.. no need to scratch my head like when i played MK, MK2, MK3 on my Sega Megadrive last time.. the best part is that "Whoppiee.." guy appear at the bottom! hahaha! definite buy!  |

In the Megadrive, SNES era, looking for the finishing moves was a pain in the a$$ as there was so limited internet access(dial up) if not none at all and the only source was thru game mag. I found most of the finishing moves by trying out the all possible combination on each characters anyway
The announcer voice in the demo does not sound as good as the old announcer though. |

Plus during Megadrive/Genesis and SNES era, they are very competitive, perhaps like today's X360 and PS3. So MK2 for each console version has
slightly difference (and I am not talking about graphics performances  ). MD version was for me, slightly slower and more gore and SNES versionwas probably true to arcade version/faster. #memories |

Hi all... it seems that Kabal is back... I saw a video of an interview with ed boon with kabal gameplay at the background.
I played the demo and all I can say is WOW, its truly MK going back to its root. As this is the E3 2010 demo, not much can be said as I know there will be some intense revamping of the game till now. I thought the fatalities were quite easy to pull-off. Except there's one which says ' AIR ' at the side =_= no idea what that means.
Hmm am also waiting to see how Kratos's fatalities look like! |

Mileena's fatality, basically just distance yourself from the opponent by side stepping backwards two times and input the command. It will work

Kratos, as this is not his first appearance in a fighting game, I think they would copy some (if not all) his moveset from Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny. And I think one of his fatality would involve him using the Blade Of Olympus. Check the video out to imagine about how you would combo and do fatality using the spartan...

Hi there friends... just want to inform you, a person in another mk forum I went to, claim that he was lucky to play the full game before it come out.
Here are some of the info he shared with us, not to be trusted 100% though... but its a good thought to be had nonetheless.. - smoke is human in this game. this is because the storyline changes as raiden saved smoke from becoming a cyborg and it is the younger sub zero that got captured and turned to cyborg will share more when I have it |

There was a leak for the character roster previously but well, its a leak no confirmation
Remembered it was something like the whole MK3 roster plus 1 Cyber SubZero. Smoke in human form as well but like u said. Still no screenies to confirm. |

i downloaded demo ver, even theres 4 characters only. but i still can play up to 4 hours with my frens. haha...
the stage is beautiful, the scorpion outfit is very nice. looks like its worth to buy. but a bit dissapointed is theres no Friendship, Animality, Babylity, Brutality like before. i think adding Friendship is good. no nd always c the same fatality. I am buying this game the day it comes out, so I won't be bothered.
Anyway, its just a system. If you want to sell your MK off, you might as well sell the online pass along, the username and password. Not like you'll be playing with it as you have already sold the game. Just a suggestion. Unless, the online pass is attached to your PS3, then that's just plain evil from their side... Second that. But anyhow, we are not comparing it with other fighting games because it is not your typical fighting games. It's Mortal Kombat!
On side note, you guys know that Street Fighter vs Tekken will come out soon or later. My dream is to have something like Mortal Kombat vs Killer Instinct For those who have played both games, I think it would be a great idea. Considering now that both games have almost the same fighting mechanic (at that time) and killer finishing, plus ULTRA ULTRA ULTRA (echo) combos. It would sound better than MK vs DC anytime.  |

My past experience on the recent MK game. Mortal Kombat vs DC universe, the online is region lock. Meaning fighters from R1 games cannot fight with R2 and R3 fighters, R2 cannot with R1 and R3, and R3 cannot fight with R1 and R2.
This may or may not change in this new game. But anyways, I'm getting both version, R1 and R3. If it is region locked, I'll use them both, R3 to fight local player and R1 for the fast DLC release. If its not region locked, you'll see my thread WTS Mortal Kombat (R3) here in Lowyat... now playing MK on 3DTV, the 3D effect for story mode is a little dissapointing

the kratos char is originally not a DLC, he was always available for play. The thing that is pissing me off is the lack of online pass code. I bought the R3 version but i'm not opening it yet after reading that it has no code. I'm going to get the R1 version.

its same like u buy nasi lemak but without sambal. no sambal no syok right? can still eat, but where's the kick in that haha. |

seriously this game should have a vs cpu mode,without this mode i cant play for fun against the cpu that i wanted,and i cant perform certain stage fatality on certain character because of it,thats why ssf4 wins this game in terms of this mode
i rather they get rid of the fatality training,seriously what can u do with this mode anyway,u gonna get bored after a while,while the vs cpu can last u way longer,and arcade is stupid :/, i wonder why all the mk games dont have this mode,such a waste for a wonderful game,and online is **** up now,great |

shao khan is damn cheap in my game too. he just keeps on spamming his spear and hammer moves lol. I needed to play cheaply by using range attacks and teleports to beat him. Scorpion ftw !

I'm only on stryker chapter... slow me... been playing around like the fatality practice, normal practice and tag practice.. currently training ermac and scorpion... got slow finger max combo for ermac 7hit 32%damage |

hi everyone. need some help. in story mode, i'm still stuck in the battle between raiden vs. shao kahn on the rooftop. i'm getting pissed off trying to defeat shao kahn and am constantly spewing expletives at the brokenness of shao kahn. any tips or tactics that you guys use to defeat shao kahn? shao kahn's x-ray is overpowered and i hate the fact that raiden's x-ray is friggin weak on him.
btw, im just a casual gamer and doing combos in MK is really frustrating compared to MvsC3. cheers. |

On hard, shao kahn will start to jump around doing shoulder barge. Must more pandai to siam.
Lack of vs mode like someone said earlier makes the game not as much fun as it could be. Can't wait for psn to be up, wanna go see how I kena beat up online. |

The Raiden chapter that brought most pain was fighting the zombies. Health does not regen after defeating every character!
Seems like I cant use Raiden as well, cant find to like his combos. |

Just wondering, what's the fastest way to get $$$ to unlock stuff at the Krypt? I finished story mode.. Second playthrough story mode only 10G per level..!!

I just started last night tho, so it wasn't that long. Challenge tower I think 25? so yeah, 275 more to go.

Out of Possible 280 (How many fights they win against a Kombatant out of 10 is how this number is found, the lower the number, the less fights they win. Does not include fighting themselves.

based on my humble perception after playing with all the characters, the tier seems to be valid... with exception that I think scorpion should be top tier... but considering he's a favourite character and everyone should be able to read him, he needs to be control by a creative person that is not afraid to shed some blood, even his!

After playing it for few days i'm still not used to the BLOCK which requires us to press the R2.
Maybe due to growing up playing king of fighters and many more fighting games that press <- for blocks. I guess practice makes perfect :/ |

Tried my R1 copy yesterday and the save game from R3 still can be used on my R1 copy. Means no need to to play all over again
