i still dont get it. how can ryan giggs the vice captain be on a field yet starting in the starting eleven not the captain ?

i dont think football is as rigid as that or as formal.i mean were not the military where the higher ups rule the ppl below, hold the power etc etc.we do have some sort of leadership but its a final word from the gaffer.as for players i think ever single on of the are on same par.

if the gaffer decides its best vida takes the captaincy then thats what the other lads agree to. i think vida has the leadership qualities to get the job done.who ever the captain is i think they can get the job done.

that also means that the gaffer final words to giggs was that his not really the official vice captain.

so, you have an official captain and vice captain in a club but at the same time, any players in that club can be captain/vice captain on the pitch when an official captain/vice captain is also on the pitch at the same time. is that how it works ?

to me, when you named someone as an official captain/vice captain, that person is the one. unless of course his not in the starting eleven.

if you named someone as an official captain/vice captain and his in the first starting eleven but not the captain/vice captain, then its better not to named any official captain/vice captain.

its better off just saying that anyone can be a captain/vice captain at any time and for any matches.

thats just me though. diffrent people may see this diffrently.

lol i dont know how the system works but that small part of vidic being the captain while giggs was on the field too bothered me during the west ham game. maybe because it was my first time ever watching it as a united fan. hmm.

Manchester United are eyeing a bid for Everton teenager Jack Rodwell. Boss Alex Ferguson is set to offer £10million plus out-of-favour Michael Carrick before the window closes tomorrow. Everton are desperate to hold on to the Under-21 ace but may find the deal too tempting. Rodwell, 19, is a central midfielder but can also play at centre-half and has been compared to a young Rio Ferdinand. United have been unsure whether to go for the player now or wait until the end of this campaign when he has another season under his belt. But they fear in a year's time his value will have rocketed which is why they may move before the transfer window closes. Rodwell has been at Goodison since he was seven and became the club's youngest player in Europe when he was 16. He made his Premier League debut in March 2008 and scored last season in their 3-1 home win over United.

Man of the match Nani deflected the praise for his champagne performance and paid tribute to his Manchester United colleagues.

The 23-year-old scored his first goal for the Reds since last February to help ease United to the 3-0 success against West Ham.

“I enjoyed it. You always enjoy it when you score. We played some good stuff and we won.

“It was a good game for everyone. If we win, we score brilliant goals, it is because everyone did an important job.

“It was a comfortable win. We could have scored a couple more goals but the result was good for us. Maybe before the end of the season we can score more goals.

“I was so excited to score. I had a lot of opportunities. I was angry with myself but the goal arrived and that made me happy. I want to continue scoring goals.
