Some of the Pool fans mentioned last week that its ok to lose against City since they spent £1++ this summer.
I guess Sunderland just spent a lot more then to win that game |

City is still considered a serious threat this season IMO. Sunderland shows us that EPL is becoming more competitive - more teams are capable to stun the heavyweights here ( well City isn't there yet ).

Vida is a regular while Giggs will be in and out of the team. If Rio is fit, he would probably be the one to lead the team probably. But Gary is still the official captain right?

But Gary is still the official captain right? That's the thing, tried to google but nothing official found. But i remember last season even giggs wasnt playing regularly he's still wearing the armband whenever he starts |

QUOTE(mhyug @ Aug 30 2010, 05:47 PM) i dont think football is as rigid as that or as formal.i mean were not the military where the higher ups rule the ppl below, hold the power etc etc.we do have some sort of leadership but its a final word from the gaffer.as for players i think ever single on of the are on same par. that also means that the gaffer final words to giggs was that his not really the official vice captain.if the gaffer decides its best vida takes the captaincy then thats what the other lads agree to. so, you have an official captain and vice captain in a club but at the same time, any players in that club can be captain/vice captain on the pitch when an official captain/vice captain is also on the pitch at the same time. is that how it works ? to me, when you named someone as an official captain/vice captain, that person is the one. unless of course his not in the starting eleven. if you named someone as an official captain/vice captain and his in the first starting eleven but not the captain/vice captain, then its better not to named any official captain/vice captain. its better off just saying that anyone can be a captain/vice captain at any time and for any matches. thats just me though. diffrent people may see this diffrently. |

QUOTE(Calvin871989 @ Aug 30 2010, 06:12 PM) that also means that the gaffer final words to giggs was that his not really the official vice captain. aa when was it official???it was a more of a norm that the gaffer passed it to giggs but i think its just whom fergie sees as fit for the armband and he gave it to that player.thats what i meant by were not rigid, the flexibility not to follow as per book(tho is there a rule that u need to name them etc etc besides on match day). so, you have an official captain and vice captain in a club but at the same time, any players in that club can be captain/vice captain on the pitch when an official captain/vice captain is also on the pitch at the same time. is that how it works ? to me, when you named someone as an official captain/vice captain, that person is the one. unless of course his not in the starting eleven. if you named someone as an official captain/vice captain and his in the first starting eleven but not the captain/vice captain, then its better not to named any official captain/vice captain. its better off just saying that anyone can be a captain/vice captain at any time and for any matches. thats just me though. diffrent people may see this diffrently. lets see if theres any intresting stuff from the papers...
http://www.manutd.com/default.sps?pagegid=...&newsid=6651689 QUOTE Papers: Rodwell on Reds' radar? United target £10m Rodwell Manchester United are eyeing a bid for Everton teenager Jack Rodwell. Boss Alex Ferguson is set to offer £10million plus out-of-favour Michael Carrick before the window closes tomorrow. Everton are desperate to hold on to the Under-21 ace but may find the deal too tempting. Rodwell, 19, is a central midfielder but can also play at centre-half and has been compared to a young Rio Ferdinand. United have been unsure whether to go for the player now or wait until the end of this campaign when he has another season under his belt. But they fear in a year's time his value will have rocketed which is why they may move before the transfer window closes. Rodwell has been at Goodison since he was seven and became the club's youngest player in Europe when he was 16. He made his Premier League debut in March 2008 and scored last season in their 3-1 home win over United. Neil Custis, The Sun Meanwhile, the Daily Mail claims Wigan want to sign United midfielder Tom Cleverly on loan. In other news, there are reports of a general strike taking place in Valencia on the day United are in town for the Champions League clash - 29 September. The club have confirmed that they are aware of this and are waiting for news from Valencia. |

Reds must stay on goal trail - Nani
QUOTE Man of the match Nani deflected the praise for his champagne performance and paid tribute to his Manchester United colleagues. The 23-year-old scored his first goal for the Reds since last February to help ease United to the 3-0 success against West Ham. “I enjoyed it. You always enjoy it when you score. We played some good stuff and we won. “It was a good game for everyone. If we win, we score brilliant goals, it is because everyone did an important job. “It was a comfortable win. We could have scored a couple more goals but the result was good for us. Maybe before the end of the season we can score more goals. “I was so excited to score. I had a lot of opportunities. I was angry with myself but the goal arrived and that made me happy. I want to continue scoring goals. “We have to follow Chelsea. When they win, we have to win as well if we want to be at the top of the league. We can’t afford to lose any points. That is why we are working hard to win every game.” While Nani played down his contribution, Ryan Giggs wasn’t so reticent. “It was a really good performance from Nani,” said the veteran. “His positional play was good. He was staying out wide and getting the crosses in. He ran inside. He scored a goal and made one. He could have had a few more. “I was really pleased for him today. He deserved man-of-the-match. “We all feel that as a team we need to score a lot more goals. We cannot just rely on Wayne as we did last year. Dimitar Berbatov has started on fire. All the midfield need to chip in, defenders, everyone. “Obviously we would have liked nine points to start with but it’s not to be. In our two home games we have played some really good football. “It could have been better but the previous two seasons we have been beaten at Fulham so maybe it was a point gained last week at Craven Cottage. “We still have Rio Ferdinand to come in and Gary Neville and Anderson. It is a headache for the manager but it is one that he would rather have than be struggling for players. “We are going to need everyone, it is a long season and the manager realises that.” http://menmedia.co.uk/manchestereveningnew...oal_trail__nani |
