TAC required for Online Bill Payment

With effect from Saturday 11 November 2006, Maybank2u.com registered users will require TAC for these Online Bill Payment transactions:

1. Open Payment - you will need TAC to pay any payee/bill under "Open Payment".
2. Bill Registration - you will need TAC to add a new bill to your "Registered Payment".

You do not require TAC for bills already saved in your "Registered Payment" list. However, you will need TAC the next time you want to register a bill.

You can request for TAC at Maybank2u.com and receive it by SMS, by registering your preferred mobile number at Kawanku ATMs. TAC is also available at Kawanku ATMs and through Maybank Phone Banking.

Maybank Alerts Customers of Latest Phishing Email
16 Nov 2006

Beware of Phishing E-Mail

Please be aware that there is a new "phishing" web site created by unauthorised persons posing as authentic Maybank web site. Although they can be difficult to spot, you will receive an e-mail and they generally ask you to click a link pointing back to a "phishing" website to provide personal or account-related information with the intention of carrying out Internet theft and fraud. To bait you, they may use an urgent or threatening condition concerning your account.

Be careful when you do your banking online and, "Never reveal your Internet Banking or ATM PIN or account information to anyone".

Example of 'phishing' email that may be sent to you:

The following tips can help you protect yourself from becoming a victim of "phishing".

1. Don't click on links in unsolicited e-mails, especially those asking for your personal information.

Even if you don't provide what they ask for, simply clicking the link could subject you to background installations of key logging software or viruses that can enable thieves to access your computer, record your keystrokes and capture passwords you use to log on to at various websites.

2. Ensure you are in the correct site - www.maybank2u.com.my

You can check the URL by looking at the Address bar (it must be www.maybank2u.com.my).

3. Go directly there.

The best way to get to any site is to type its address (URL) into your browser and Keep the URL in your "Favourites" or bookmark the web page to reduce the chance of making mistakes.

4. Change your password regularly.

It is recommended for you to change your passwords regularly or immediately when you felt that your password was compromised.

I'm afraid not, you need to go to the bank personally to do so for opening a savings account.

For opening a new account, you have to do it at the branch.

If you're talking about maybank2u internet banking, all you need is just the ATM card (if you have it) for that particular account.
