Possible 6 Core Steamroller. So please avoid Richland at all cost.

Steamroller News/Or Rumor?

interestingly the adoption of GDDR5 for system memory, just like PS4 system.

i wonder how it does on consumer's end since we are still unsure when GDDR5 ram modules will be commercially available to end user market.

erm... either AMD plans to have some amount of GDDR5 BGA soldered to the motherboards. else, not easy to get all ram vendor support to make it available to end user market.

in 2014, DDR3 will be replaced with DDR4 & GDDR5 will be replaced with GDDR6.

as nill said, I definitely skip Richland for sure, since it's still in Piledriver based, not much improvement from Trinity but just IGP-HD8000 upgrade. looking forward for Kaveri next, 28nm & Steamroller.

kindly share source of schedule of DDR4 hitting consumer market. If DDR4 will reach retail stores next year, hopefully the price will not be too steep. Even the Haswell chips are still using DDR3 RAM. Too bad PS4 and XBox(Durango) are not using DDR4, if not the DDR4 price will be even competitive or the opposite will happen since Microsoft will purchase all the DDR4 RAMs ?

I would rather they opt for quad channel memory rather than expensive GDDR5 memory. GDDR5 memory should be good for laptops because it's embedded but for desktop you are stuck with whatever that is available on the motherboard

Those two FX is not for retail market. And for the last time TDP is not the power consumption of the CPU, its THERMAL DESIGN POWER, which means the cooler required to dissipate x amount of watts. AMD and Intel rated their TDP differently as well so don't directly compared the two.

For those who are still using Phenom II, better stick a while and wait for Steamroller. Quite possibly out end of this year or early next year but don't quote me on that.

Thread title needs an update. Bobcat already been replaced by Jaguar and Bulldozer replaced by Piledriver
