AFAIK, you need to get a new mobo for AM3+

But for AM3+ mobos, can support AM3 procs

Aarrgghh, no support for 790FX

Basically new platform just to support the newer techs....aagghh
Anyway, I am still fine with the current AM3 mobos functionality

It is because with lesser cores, the better the chances of getting higher clocks

It is about the clockspeeds, not the amount of cores

What worries me is the amount of power consumed when stress at OC levels, it is astonishing high

Well, at least I won't upgrade to another FX as I think my 'fake' FX can hold on its own

Apparently true....have to wait for our own in-house LYN benchmarks with different boards and compare

Apparently ASUS CH5's BIOS is being blamed for the performance drop, we will see later how it goes

Asrock 990FX Extreme4 already shown us that BD can rival the 2600k in gaming, awaiting other boards
