QUOTE(Cottoncandyclouds @ Aug 15 2014, 11:20 PM) Cancel your appointment and application, initiate refund process on the website and redo a new application. All errors have to be corrected online before heading to the appointment centre. If the visa centre spots any mistakes on your form, there is a large chance they will send you home. Even if they don't notice it, the High Commission in Manila will )(they are the ones who vet through your document one last time before issuing you a visa). My gosh. Wouldn't it be better if I point it out to them on Monday and see what they can do about it and then decide again?

No, because from personal experience they will tell you to redo the entire application in event of mistakes. In event that happens, you've to make a new appointment and potentially wait a few more weeks for it. You can try your luck though, assuming that your mistake is minor enough! QUOTE(kuroneko0509 @ Aug 13 2014, 09:51 PM) nope, definitely better grabbing rice cooker from malaysia. the choices are kinda limited here. especially if you'll be staying alone, a small one is enough. I wouldn't do that really. first, it's bit waste the luggage space if you are bring the rice cooker in my opinion. Why you are taking something that you can get it from here? What kind of super rice cooker you need when since you are staying alone and you just want to cook the rice? plus you going to stay in UK for how long? Yes, I do agree there's a lot of choices in malaysia, probably you will can multiple function etc etc. come on, as a student, you just need some thing do cook the rice, that's all you need. and you maybe don't cook the rice everyday. why would you susah payah bring a super rice cooker from malaysia? In argos or wilkinson, £10 or £15 you can get a nice and good size, and that's all you need to cook the rice.

I did fine in 'sumbat' all of my stuff in my luggage 2 years ago with it, most of my friends did fine too. Figuring out how to fit in all those stuff inside a single (or double) luggage is fun. Abuse the space inside the rice cooker with those perencah and stuff Well, it is up to the user choice whether to grab stuff from here or in Malaysia but in my experience, those cheap argos brand stuff fail miserably when we used it. I still remember how my blender failed exactly on the day its warranty ends. (and not that we overused it) Plus I do cook rice everyday and who knows how many times I have to change the rice cooker if I ends up grabbing those argos brand stuff. I'm not saying that brand is bad, but after having a few appliances broken makes me and my housemates reconsider of getting cheap kitchen wares. LOL! yes, although the perencah and small little things can be fit into the the rice cooker but the thingy isn't light man. The weight of the rice cooker, i willing to bring more perencah and chinese mushroom, or the things are expensive or difficult to get it over here. yes, u right. depending personal preference really. When i was student, electronics or kitchen appliances were cheap stuff from argo/wilkinson or second-hand. beggars can't be choosers. besides, that would be nice getting branded and expensive stuff if you can afford it.

Visa personnel at TB clinic. I selected the wrong tier (Tier 4 (scholarship) instead of Tier 4 General (Sponsored)) and they told me to go home because the name of my scholarship is not within their list and that they have to double check with the embassy (which took nearly a week). Then they told me to redo my application under Tier 4 general sponsored because Tier 4 scholarship is only for commonwealth and fulbright students. They wanted me to bring all my old passports because they noticed i just renewed mine.
Then, on my second appointment, the staff were debating whether I should choose Tier 4 general or tier 4 general sponsorship because tier 4 general sponsorship should only be for JPA students.
Thing is, if the visa company accepts your application and forwards it to the High Embassy in Manila for approval (and they reject it at the end), you have to request for a new CAS number, redo your application and pay your visa fee again. That's why they are very particular with mistakes.

Honestly though I recommend everyone applying for Visa to google someguides : http://www.ox.ac.uk/sites/files/oxford/fie...on%20form_0.pdfand http://www.lse.ac.uk/intranet/students/ISI...arance-form.pdfare some good ones. Obviously change some info unless you're entering oxford or LSE. Also there are some conditions to be considered 'sponsored', either by a government or international body. I guess the term international body is debatable.

I guess the term international body is debatable. I'm fully sponsored by my uni...they were like hmm do UK unis give out scholarships? Let us call the embassy (no one picked up for nearly a week). My friend applied to do an exchange programme to UK for less than 6 months. They stopped him dead in his tracks at the visa office and they refused to process for him initially because it was uncommon for students to apply for a visa less than 6 months (even though the visa guidelines online said he could and had to). Fortunately though, the Tier 4 (scholarship) category doesn't charge any application fees because it should be covered by the scholarship body (commonwealth or fulbright, etc.).
So I was spared from having to pay my visa fees twice. Others were less lucky.

You got eventually got your visa though, right? Also mind sharing what you mean by others being less fortunate?
