why keep complaint..just wait till it launch then we know the price...whether is cheaper, same price or more expensive than I9000 or not there is still market wan...

Attended Singtel Accelerate Conference in Singapore. Samsung showcased Galaxy Tab, and i handed on the device.

Samsung representative given the following uncertain answers during Q&A session:
1.to be release to Market before mid-November

2.Pricing is around SGD1000, in talks with 3 major telcos in SG to bring down the price with contract.

3.Remain uncertain if it can be upgraded to Gingerbread. He claimed Galaxy Tab meets the Gingerbread requirement, but whether it can be upgraded is up to Google to decide

he also mentioned Chrome OS....Sound like future tablet from galaxy family might be running Chrome OS??

4.It's not the only Tab from Galaxy series.

So it good news or not?

Up to you on how you interpret the message...

But Android screen still cannot go too big... need to wait 3.0 next year...

AUD999 is almost RM3K .... wow !!!

This device is due to be launched in UK on 2nd of November. The price is at least 500+ pounds. Hope it gets cheaper with Telco subsidy

Apple devices is expensive. I figured out that competitors of Apple devices too have an almost similar price. Galaxy S have an almost similar price to the iPhone 4. Now the rumours said the Tab will cost pretty much the same as the iPad. Anyways, I always liked the Galaxy series. Coz my bro own one, the S. Now all I want is that phone too.

Best to wait till next year for more choices.

If you want to get for your Christmas, then you have to look for tablets running at least Froyo 2.2 with Flash...

i rather wait for HTC Android 3.0 tablet which will hit the market in Q1 next year since the 2.2 can't really support high resolutions application. The price will be around $790 = RM2457..more value for money cause it's powered by NVIDIA Tegra 2 chipset, 2GB of RAM and with the screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.

Those features are mere speculation. The company hasn't even confirmed it man. Anything can change at the very last minute like how the amoled screen of tablet being replaced by Super TFT.

does any of SGT owner here have try playing .flv file with stock video player?
if possible try those .flv files with size more than 100MB..

Bought the Tab on impulse last weekend....no regrets so far...

Admittedly some things arent as smooth as the iPad but even Google has come out saying that its true because Froyo wasnt designed for tablets...

I think they have confirmed that Gingerbread will be available as a free update for the Tab and fix a lotta things

As you mentioned Froyo was not designed for Tablets, you mean that when you try out the videos, flash and games applications, you feel the lagging in the playing these formats ?

What I heard is the 720p videos are a bit sluggish when you run the movie or movie trailers.

Flash shud be ok, as far as i know.

For games...shud be quite acceptable.


Well, if Gingerbread comes in early next year, I am sure 3.0 will iron out all the sluggishness issues.

Just hope GT's update to 3.0 is good for all applications.
