Wah , very brave lah, if me then i no dare to dismantle 6K+ notebook. So this will void the warranty right?
*
Nope tongue.gif If service center dares to void my warranty they will get a call from USA telling them to honor the warranty. If you check on NBR, many users have done it and there are some service center that tried to void the warranty. In the end they had to honor it because Asus is aware of the problem. You can either show them the email from customer support stating if you re-paste & didn't break anything the warranty is still valid or you can PM Asus Customer/Gary Keys and tell them your problem. Your warranty will be void if the following happens:

1.) Visible proof that the notebook have been opened by user with the following conditions:

2.) Any parts broken/damaged by user during attempt to open notebook. Warranty will be void for the broken part/item. Eg: Keyboard, clips, cables, etc. etc.

3.) Warranty sticker broken at CPU heatsink.

Point 1 is not valid enough for the warranty to be void and needs to be in combination of point 2 or 3. This has been confirmed by members in NBR wink.gif

g53/73jw are promised to be 3d vision supported despite the other vendors are pressuring each other with 3D display gimmick. sweat.gif
*
Yeah 3D vision by connecting your laptop to a compatible LCD 3D TV through a 1.4 HDMI cable. Anyone care to factor the cost just to get all of those items just to get the 3D function working? tongue.gif

The only consolation is they provide a free software worth $39.99 to convert your standard SD to a so call "3D" experience. The other items you have to purchase separately. When will people get it the 3D technology now is way over hyped with the stereoscopic 3D glasses. I for one will never wear one for more than even 1 hour. Imagine wearing one for a long gaming session like 5-7 hours, I will go blind by then tongue.gif

Playing games with 3D vision enabled may be an issue. I've seen G60jv(GTS 360m equipped) ran RE5 benchmark below 10 fps. Yes, its totally unplayable. Games with 3D vision is a very gpu stressing in a way.
*
It should perform better than the 360m but I still say most of these 3D options will be a white elephant for most standard users. I already find 3D LCD TVs stupid due to the need for wearing glasses and carrying around a 3D capable gaming laptop around tops it. I can imagine myself in some cafe or Macdonald's gaming casually on my G73JH but I can't imagine myself in these public place donning a stereoscopic 3D glasses looking like some major dork geek tongue.gif

Overall if you are getting this option without any additional cost then go ahead and purchase it. If you already have the G73JH it is not worth the investment and time to change the notebook now. 3D technology is still at it's infancy and if this does not get adopted fast you will regret the investment you put into it. I still think they might develop something like in the movie "Paycheck" in the near future tongue.gif Now that's what I call 3D! wink.gif

Yeah I was thinking of that too but I'm afraid my G73JH might become a distribution Kiosk for free softwares, LMAO! We could plan for something like that and probably drag Jeffrey's butt back down here to join us tongue.gif

hai, just want to ask all Asus users opinion, it is worth for me to purchase the g53JW compare too G73??
*
Like Jefferey said it really depends on your requirements and preferences. I am an ATI fanboy even though they failed me this time with the 5870 of the G73JH but they can't take the blame wholly. It was also Asus fault for not working with ATI to ensure the GSOD issues was rectified quickly. If you are into the whole 3D thingy then it should be good for you smile.gif

mobility+gaming, not sure about the 3D thing. btw, better for me too see this baby in action first, i know the nvidia fermi quite hot when running, i hope asus laptop can handle the heat properly with the new design.  nod.gif
*
I'm not worried about the cooling system of the new chassis as I've opened mine up and I can tell you it's the best I've seen in any laptop ever, period. Let's hope the monkeys in the factory can apply the TIM properly and Asus decides to use better quality TIM that doesn't degrade over time mad.gif If they got this issues right we would see less heat problems on the A1. GSOD is another issue.

QUOTE(riku2replica @ Sep 4 2010, 10:28 AM)
Good news again for G73JH.

There's a new vBios released by Gary, but i'm making sure if it doesn't GSOD on most user G73JH ROFL.
*
Great news, I've been busy with work and I've not been on NBR in a few. Thanks, I'll look into it ASAP when I can wink.gif

I will attend the gathering if and only if I'm at M'sia and most importantly I'm at Peninsular.  laugh.gif
*
LMAO! Don't worry I won't use my hands, just some creative way tongue.gif I'm not "that" either, LOL! Well if you are ever at Peninsular give me a ring and I'll gather the KL members to "take care of you", ROFL! laugh.gif

QUOTE(Jeffrey1987 @ Sep 4 2010, 02:57 PM)
I will wait and see the result 1st. For you guys info, I have not upgraded any BIOS or vBIOS since my purchase.  laugh.gif
*
I'll check on the new vBios and some comments before testing it out. I've skipped the first vBios by Chastity because the reports at NBR was around the 50% success rate. I'll flash the moment it hit around 75% rate and report back at this thread.

QUOTE(limlim78 @ Sep 4 2010, 03:01 PM)
Just buy the G73Jh-A1 from us, now parcel at Shenzhen CN, ETA 8-9-2019. I still prefer ATI more so buy the A1 model. Wish me not get GSOD. smile.gif
*
Congratulations! Welcome to the family and enjoy your new toy. Don't worry, let us know if you have any GSOD and we will do our best to assist you. I've had 4 GSOD in total since my upgrade to Catalyst 10.7 on the day it came out and never again wink.gif

Hi, im evern here, viperion you repasted your G73? need some consultation before i take the lappy apart, i sent to Asus Royal club to repaste Tuniq TX-3 but the temperature is still high, noticed that you had only 87 C running furmark for 15 mins is awesome
*
I re-pasted my unit with IC Diamond 7 about a week ago. You are not the first to mention this, there is another owner who got the Asus Royal Club to re-paste and noticed no changes in temperatures. I suspect they did not re-paste your unit as it really takes a lot of work just to reach your GPU. Check my post and you can find some pictures of my laptop dis-assembly and a screenshot of Furmark running for 7 hours ++ with a max of 93C reported tongue.gif I accidently left Furmark running and fell asleep on the day I re-pasted my unit.

On a side note, I still have one more tube of IC Diamond 7 for sale at RM 55 for interested owners. I've also checked with my friend and if anyone needs service to open and re-paste their laptop he will do it for a fee. PM me or contact me for those who are interested.

Update: Oh, it was you evern, LMAO! What happened to your other account?

--------------------------------------------------

Besides that, I do experiencing some lagging issue when i playing SC2 with ultra mode. did you guys encounter this problem? is that cause by the stock driver?

I have turn on everything to high performance but I still encountering that. The lagging is occur in some interval method.

Can anyonce give some advise?

I am using G73jh-B1.

Check your vBios version and report it back here and I might have an answer for you. What is your clock/mem speed set at now?
