i just plan decide want upgrade from hdd to ssd or not...but US price of ssd still expensive and haven drop like wat i expected...before that saw u all discuss that ocz bad, and now the sdd cheapest is OCZ only

wow..u upgrade the 160GB Intel G2 X25-M Solid State Drive (Up to Sequential Read 250MB/s - Write 100MB/s SSD Serial-ATA II) ( + 419 ) ?

which model? A1 or XA1? For G73 (XA1) only got 1 hdd bracket. The other hdd slot is empty. Not sure about G53.

I upgrade myself. Bought the sdd here..... biggrin.gif , cheaper. But you have to bear the risk while install it. But USD 419 is considered standard price even compare to Malaysia.

It is very hard to find the hdd bracket now even in US...there are someone "fabricate" the bracket himself and I just followed his tutorial. It is on the first page = 10. Guide to Disassembling Asus G53Jw and Install 2nd HDD.

LYN member here. I bought the oem so cheaper. You can search in garage sales under the subthread 'memory and drive" there.

haha, using cardboard oso can laugh.gif , scared it move and hold not tight enough and effect the whole system bcause os inside ssd...

that's why only can use for ssd, cos ssd no moving part and the heat generated is much lesser than normal hdd. tongue.gif

I put some span with thick double side tape as cushion underneath and on the ssd and make sure it is not moving. So far no problem at all. biggrin.gif

this card got 3 antenna connectors but I think our asus g53/73 only got 2 antenna. Not really sure can or not.

sounds great rclxms.gif , u din made a video review on putting in the ssd without bracket..wasted

Beside that, the wire transfer statement call me transfer additional amout of money for the bank fess or charge of the Malaysia and America Bank. may i know usually u all send additional how much?

I ordered G53JW-A3 with 500GB HDD from XoticPC. No second HDD due to the shortage of second HDD bracket!
