Doesn't seem much different when running FurMark(~90C), but definitely some improvement while playing games under long hours (~80C).
*
Well, Furmark actually pushes your GPU to the max, where in gaming, i doubt there are any game that could fully ultilised your GPU.

I seen games with no GPU acceleration at all, though on G73. doh.gif

You need to check the volumetric weight, because that is the heavier one, like the G53 will be charged as 8kg, instead of 7kg (actual weight)

(4 more hours till my Black Ops Pre-load finish biggrin.gif)

Dont expect to play BO for these few days.

It's unoptimised like crap.

Well, if you move around a lot, and you need performance on the go.

Then, G73 or G53 is good for you.

Seems like the Atherous wifi card is really bad.

The signal keep dropping from full bars to 2 bars for no reason. The router is just behind me.

well, my laptop is using Atheros as well... and i ve never encountered any issues...

try driver perhaps???
*
Not sure exactly, as my router's antenna is loose. That could contribute to the drop of signal.

normal as in mainstream laptops that you can buy from any local outlets. i don't see gaming laptops as being normal laptops, they defy or outright go against the point of laptops, which is portable, easy to maintain, decent battery life, cheap, versatile..etc. They are heavy, power hungry, expensive, not portable, require more care and maintenance..etc. yet there is a niche market for it, afterall, i do own one. When i whip out my G73 among my friends, they all looked at it and shake their heads, so yea... not exactly normal.
*
lol, same as me. Everyone just gave me a wtf look when i say i spent a fair bit of money for a gaming laptop.

I only use erasers. 2 eraser to lift the back up a bit.

Drops about 1 Celsius. Also, it could slate the keyboard more, making more comfortable to type.

Mine is cheesenium.

Just add me la.

QUOTE(DoubleU @ Nov 24 2010, 12:15 AM)

Yea i kept stock paste, urs in wearing out? confirm?

*
Yea, i think it has start to wear out.

Reaching 89C on GRID now, while back then, on Fur Mark, highest is only 83C.

I think what i will do is, send it to Asus for the first time, with 2 tubes of OCZ Freeze. If they cant fix it, i'll disassemble it myself and upgrade it to ICD7.

QUOTE(DoubleU @ Nov 24 2010, 12:44 AM)
@cheese, ur using the G73Jw right? which nvidia driver you use? the official one?
*
Nope, im using G73JH la.

Running on Catalyst 10.10.

@Cheesenium, are you using 10.10e and enable MLAA ?
*
Only 10.10, no MLAA.

Hopefully I don't need to disassemble it to change my thermal paste. I think Asus haven't rectified this issue yet. doh.gif

Added on November 24, 2010, 11:27 amoh yea, my nvidia driver is 260.99

The palm rest can get quite warm sometimes, if the game you play is quite demanding.

The rest of the laptop is pretty cool, though.

hm, duno if you guys feel this, but COD their gun sound got like no rumble or bass to it de... just 'piak piak' feeling. Not like MoH...
*
LOL, you are not alone.

Sounds like those BB gun to me.

MoH probably have the best gun sound, as they actually record it from the real guns.
