its not in the sensor, but more on the mirror vs translucent mirror... which means, the mirror box now no longer moves away when you snap a pic (which gives the 'clik klak' sound).. this enables full time video recording AND af is triggered at all times...
previously, when an image is taken, the mirror moves out of the way to let light pass straight onto the sensor... when the mirror moves out of the way, light no longer reaches the AF sensor which is placed at the bottom of the camera... the mirror effectively 'splits' light into 2 paths... 1 into the OVF, 2 into the AF sensor.. this is why now, there's an EVF to replace the OVF as light no longer can be reflected upwards effectively to give a bright view as the 'mirror' is now transparent, or rather... translucent

QUOTE(yuhi @ Aug 24 2010, 09:03 AM) Why buy it with the 18-55mm lens when we can all use our A mount lens Added on August 24, 2010, 9:07 am» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
Hmm... Is the a33 & a55 identical to dslr? can it still use our existing flashes? Can it wirelessly trigger flash? yeah, basically its a full dslr, everything can be used... only difference is the mirror

question: does the quick video AF only works with SAM lens or all A-mount lenses including the screw driven ones?

QUOTE(zstan @ Aug 24 2010, 09:18 PM) what i mean is yes, i know the A33/55 can use any other A-mount lens for AF video recording, but if the lens is a screw driven lens, as opposed to a SAM/SSM lens, will it AF as fast as we see in the video...

24mm that one is the Zeiss la...
Somehow, I think when I get my hands on the Pellixes, I wont have much of a big WOW reaction as I did when I 1st saw/touched the NEX. Mainly because the new features, when concentrated on, they are just as normal as other cameras out there, taking pictures and videos. The WOW factor comes in the form of "I know this will ease my job of taking pictures (and now videos) by a whole lot compared to any other dSLRs out there at the moment, including the camera that I own now". And best of all, I know I can use all my lenses on that body without the need of an adapter like the NEX and still having full dSLR functions in it. So at the end of the day, its more of a peace of mind, rather than "wow, I've got a new gadget" kind of expression.

QUOTE(8tvt @ Aug 24 2010, 10:38 PM) why need that range lens? Some people need it, some people don't as in your case, you don't find that range appealing to you. Well, some people would love that range on an apsc for portraits and product shots.

QUOTE(8tvt @ Aug 24 2010, 10:55 PM) i know i not need it right now.. but actually in which condition suitable to use it? modeling and catwalk? Hmmm, how can I put it. It's more like, you will know when you need it when you know you need it. Else, its going to be pretty much a white elephant.
