hahahaha.... btw, if iso1600 noise in A7 is not a concern/acceptable, i doubt any additional/new features in A55 are really required in photography or will help in photography... in A700, all the basic is there, and the additional from A700's feature is far more useful, like dual dail, WL commander on F58, the smart navi GUI thingie, and intelligent preview thingie (dunno whats it call)

QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Sep 4 2010, 12:31 AM)
a550 better grip design+battery life... Other than that... maybe its OVF... other than that... a55 will be a better one, with GPS built in, higher burst rate, full hd movie recording with full AF... bla bla bla...
*
are those really necessary in photography? hehehe tongue.gif well,..... (below)

QUOTE(kuro0314 @ Sep 4 2010, 12:27 AM)
noob question a550 better or a55 better?
*
instead of looking at A55, pls reconsider A580 (or A560) which is A550 replacement. the spec mode is par with A55/A33 respectively.

hmm... he's asking which one is better mah... then i mean better from the way that it has gps, bla bla bla... it may not be necessary but it's definitely a bonus for a dslt/dslr. hahaha...

Added on September 4, 2010, 12:54 ambtw... the rumour... date of announcement 12/9??? Is that possible? 12/9/2011??? hahaha
*
hahaha, true true... bonus... but no necessary better worrr... coz those are extra features, not improvement over oldder technology tongue.gif

but still.... i hope he will try consider the A560/580 lorrr... since they are bound to replace A550... and about the same spec with A33/55, just the video capability diff.

kuro, when u go sony centre, they have the big piece of paper (somewhere) where they show the diff of Nex vs other brand... they wrote around 400-550 shot there (if i recall) vs others usually below 400 (except NX10)

And the UV filter 49mm Vitacon he recommended me cost me rm110 EACH.... I guess it's quite overpriced right?

Wow.... A55 is only cost RM2799 with kit lens....... With this kind of new technology, I'm so gonna get this DSLR for good.. Forget about A580.... Time to get this in my cart.  brows.gif

But with this kind of price made me wonder..... is this DSLR a beginner or Intermediate DSLR? The price does look like beginner DSLR price... hmm.gif
*
well, to answer it... sony cooperation is really HUGE... they have the power to mass product and reduce the cost drastically. hence they able to offer cheaper camera to user... in the old days, sony compact are consider the few most expensive top range compact, today, its the cheapers compact, same as cheapest DSLRs.... that the power of economy of scale (hugeee scale)

categorizing a camera level, and buying it doesnt makes u a noob or pro.... experienced user like me buys a A330, does that make me a entry user? tongue.gif (joking around) or a new comer brought a PRO A900 doesnt made him a pro either.

but i hope dont catagorize them anymore, even nikon D3100 is so confusing, the spec is consider much improve over D90, but as an entry??? today tech had many jump already, making it hard to catagorize which is which....

just put it in a way, today u buy this, this price, determine how well the camera perform. that all.

zstan, Actually the lowest ISO the A850 can go down to is ISO100..... why I used ISO200 then? Read on.....

lwliam, the reason why I used ISO200 and not ISO100 is because ISO100 is the expanded range (means is it not a native ISO) of the A850. It is essentially a digitally interpolated value. The base ISO for the A850 is ISO200, where it gives the best dynamic range and most natural color. You try to shoot at ISO200 and ISO6400, and you will notice a shift in color tone.
add-on: iso100 was actually shoot with native iso200, then stop down 1 stop using the raw processing.
ieR, thanks for your comments. i noticed that problem the first time i opened this photo up for PP work.  doh.gif  was cursing myself about it. unfortunately, the pattern on her thigh was just so random and uneven that it looks like as if she was wearing stockings or something like that. so that is the reason why i left it as it is. It would be a nightmare (for me) to PP that out, and her thighs will look unnaturally smooth. It will also be difficult (correction: impossible) to get back that skin tone if I PP her thighs. it was a lighting & posing mistake, honestly.  shakehead.gif
*
oh... send me the photo, let me take a look? hehehe.... well, playing with light is very very nice yet dangerous, it will create very nice new dimension of photo, also, it will show a lot new ugly side of things. but u can always try edit it out, take it as a challengee

The 550D does offer more manual control over video - aperture, shutter, ISO etc. The A55 however sweeps it away in AF in video.
i just dont like the aperture transition, even given full manual control, i still give 0 mark for the aperture transition thingie... sudden jerk in bright/darkness is ugly. but i am pretty sure they will fix taht issue very soon... maybe with 60D biggrin.gif

*remove, i think its off topic smile.gif

to who bising bising that Dpreview no give A55 enough point? : creativity is up to the person to adapt to create a new work... 1 mark bottom only ma... maybe other review site gives 50% more mark? hahaha, dont read too much DPreview and hook to whatever they say.

for that price... why not help her upgrade her phone with better cam? at least that is a more personal camera and can take better night photo then those rm500 compacts

i fork out a 70200G for a proposal ring cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif (sometimes think back,... i think i am childish,... should play more lens first...LOL)

shootkk: but when u look at the Bigger picture of the case... the merchant is still Unethical~~ still wrong... and still, people need to report them... because 8 years ago, when i am noob with camera, i followed my uncle to a camera shop in TS, he was dazzled into buying a olympus (when we are initially thinking of canon 400D), that oly is 4.8k! when we went online do research, we found out that camera is RRP 3.8k! WTFFFFFFFFF we stomp back to the shop, the same boy(who served us) told us money pay cant return, we insist to talk to his boss, but he phone his boss, and his boss say can exchange for extra product, gave us nonsense filter and extra batt... but still my uncle was conned 1k.... so this is his fault? i mean, its the shop being dishonest and dazzle people into buying at the first place. their INTENTION is wrong from the beginning... its no diff from conman: who uses people weakness to exploit for personal gain.

no diff from a market selling sugar with mark up price due to 'non sense excuse'

isnt it the first place, the shop should help educate people first bout what they getting into, then nicely recommend them and still, ecthically do not take advantage of money issue?

*edit: my uncle was dazzle, because the boy talk very geng, so nice till even me that time think olympus is king of DSLR and canon is lousy... boyyy that promoter is really dangerous...
----------------------------------------------------------

wei wei wei, we off topic to maintaining girls? LOL.

ahpinko
: do try read more smile.gif it helps to understand things, and, do pls go to the shop and test it out, listen to the seller what they have to say, although some are idiots, but some might gave u information that dpreview even missed.

lwliam & banzai-san: well, i think, we should learn the next level, which is called, Anticipation... i chase kids around to shoot(client children), never i use 5fps, waste of shuttle and u loose concentration.. i sure try to get 1 shot 1 kill... anticipation is a good skill to have if u can horn it. smile.gif (and yea, there are time u wan use FPS to make a motion photo collage, which is very nice too)

addition infomation: A550. normal single shot VS 3/5fps and 7fps piority.
for many who might never notice, when using A550 model, try use normal single shoot if possible. at 3/5 and 7 piority, noise reduction is disable (although some might start to argue the CMOS has built in NR, yes, but i mean post-process jpeg NR). meaning u'll get raw noise on jpg. when u use single shot, u will notice drastic noise reduction (and better sharpness) even at iso3200 is noise level is like iso1600(no NR in 3/5/7 fps), and if u activate high NR, the photo turn even more crisp.

Firstly I guess it's my own fault for not doing any research for uv filters cause I never thought that I would need one.. Actually now I think back I dun really need it also.. I would choose the cheaper option most of the time since I always do my research before buying something.. Just that the seller is quite sneaky as well and a lot of things he did made me buy that overpriced filter.. He seemed all nice and really helpful which made lower my defense.. Besides, it's quite a reputable shop in garage sales that's why I never thought they're like that also!.. I choose not to defame the shop because I know a lot of shops do this as well.. Who wanna know which shop is it just Pm and ask me..

I am just feeling a bit unhappy because I am only a student and I worked full time the past 2 months just to earn half the budget for the camera.. The money conned is already more than a quarter of my monthy salary..

to be honest... they are comparing with DSLR 16mm... i mean, the distance from the lens to sensor is diff, mirrorless is much closer, definitely will have distortion issue... they should compare with other mirrorless 16mm... and honestly... the overall quality (inculding build) is by far, the best 16mm in the market for mirrorless IMHO
