lwliam & banzai-san: well, i think, we should learn the next level, which is called, Anticipation... i chase kids around to shoot(client children), never i use 5fps, waste of shuttle and u loose concentration.. i sure try to get 1 shot 1 kill... anticipation is a good skill to have if u can horn it.

(and yea, there are time u wan use FPS to make a motion photo collage, which is very nice too)
addition infomation: A550. normal single shot VS 3/5fps and 7fps piority.
for many who might never notice, when using A550 model, try use normal single shoot if possible. at 3/5 and 7 piority, noise reduction is disable (although some might start to argue the CMOS has built in NR, yes, but i mean post-process jpeg NR). meaning u'll get raw noise on jpg. when u use single shot, u will notice drastic noise reduction (and better sharpness) even at iso3200 is noise level is like iso1600(no NR in 3/5/7 fps), and if u activate high NR, the photo turn even more crisp.
hahhaa, no la, just giving an example..
i seldom use my full 5 fps as well except when i was panning at sepang and doing group shots (to avoid the 'blinkers' - even so, its probably only taken in 3 shots) and yes, i agree on the anticipation as i do it most of the time waiting for 'the moment'. friends have asked me why is the camera stuck to my face for so long looking into a scene and yet have not pressed the shutter, i just say "wait for it, wait for it". its when AFTER i pressed the shutter and i've showed them the result they understand why.
