I dont actually believe in Quadrant score now.. the desire has been very snappy at just stock speed and usable as a daily driver (stable too) but didnt get so superb impressive quadrant score.. yes, we know that quadrant is not just about raw processing, UI and UX is another factor that quadrant cant actually calculate but only can be felt in the hands of the user.. No use of getting high quadrant but still lags and no use of applying certain patch and fix if it only gives a better quadrant score only.

stock android VS HTC Sense, im going for HTC Sense. Very usable and eye catchy. There is no need to waste ram using 3rd party launchers and widget to make your phone look nice. HTC Sense served me well on the Desire. Im very looking forward for the next Android UI. I hope that its gonna be cool and have scrolling widgets on the HS. On the other hand, i would love to see HTC Sense gets updated just like they said during the android garage. HTC Sense is what makes HTC phones appeal. HTC Sense does much better compared to other custom UI and deserves to be considered as the best custom UI. rclxms.gif

Glad to hear you guys loving htc sense. To me htc sense is not a crappy android ui remake. I believe that it is a huge improvements of stock ui and it should be as a benchmark of android UIs.

Htc has invented a great ui for now and i hope the next version of htc sense wont destroy the beauty of android but to improve user experience even more. Who knows, perhaps they could enhance android gingerbread ui even more. Lucky that for us htc devices has a great development support to make our wait for the official update to come in time.

At first i was sad to see SGS having a better spec and pwned the desire so hard. But now i realized that user experience on the desire is much better even on non rooted and out of the box. Kudos to everyone using the htc desire especially rooted ones smile.gif.

i also choose Desire instead of Galaxy S becoz of Sense UI.  Another major reason of course is the solid build quality of HTC.  thumbup.gif

Why the NextSense 7.1 take so long to come out while the 6.0 to 7.0 was so fast.  sweat.gif

Perhaps its quite stable so not much new implementation to be done for now smile.gif

Good morning peeps  biggrin.gif

Just woke up and found out NexTSense7.1 is not released yet. Boring....  whistling.gif

ive just flashed to NxSense7.0 last night after using leedroidmod for a week.. i really miss NxSense a lot after using leedroid. Both ROMs are great and stable as a daily driver but NxSense suits me better i guess

Tats the problem if u dont have d online kitchen for R8. If you wanted the app2sd+, it will have d wavesecure which is very troublesome.

I think it support app2sd+ coz when i partition, i hav more space. Weird...

Btw,any idea whether v get similar widget like d people widget for sense?
*
launcher pro plus has people, bookmarks and calendar widget similar to htc sense smile.gif

QUOTE(anwa @ Aug 30 2010, 10:12 PM)
Battery Question again...

Since I last post regarding battery issue, been doing more research.
There is a thread in XDA advocating calibrating the battery, basically charge it full, off it, charge somemore, on it etc etc.

I haven't try that, however got a question.
When fully charged, battery show 4157mv at 100%. (I think that's the normal value according to the XDA thread).
Now, from unplug at 6am till now 10pm, 37% left, battery info shows 3535mv. Is that normal ? Or is calibration out, need to calibrate ?
I mean, if 100%=4157mv, shoudn't 37% be something like 1100mv ??

Any ideas anybody ?

(I'm still on NextSense 5.3, not keen to upgrade to AuraXtSense 7.1 yet even though stated better battery life...a bit doubtful)
*
i believe u should be looking at mAh value.. os monitor is able to see mAh value on certain kernels in the system log. if you have calibrated, it should be very close to 1400 which is our rough battery capacity. Mv value is somehow the mili voltage supply flowing and not the mAh capacity.. Cleave talked about this on the batterylife thread regarding on wiping battery starts to properly recalibrate how much the system detects the full charge linit and discharging amount to allow charging up to max capacity from 100 to zero at more accurate scaling

Err..sorry..i lost you there. So you would recommend calibrating using that on off on technique ? And which app can help to see mAh value ?
Thanks.
*
have a read here as its proper to talk on the existing thread
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1493150/+20
the app is called osmonitor which is free btw on the market. The drawbacks is that not all kernels provide the mAh capacity to be able to detect by osmonitor now. It dosent work anymore on the roms i use

AuraxTSense v7.1 seems to be working very fine for me now. No reboots or force close but i faced the market install error upon 1st boot but resolved it via clearing up data and cache of market in settings. Everything seems very good for now on mine. I hope to see the soon to be released 30fps 720p mod applied on the desire to experience a better videocam experience.
Where is the desire froyo and kernel source code by htc.. hmm, things perhaps would be so much better with it but i guess htc is quite busy on rolling out froyo to other HTC devices such as the legend and wildfire as promised. Its great to see that they have the lead in updating to froyo compared to other manufacturers which some i believe having problem in optimizing their core with froyo's JIT feature

.93 and .92 is different ait? is it the SLCD version for .93? i downgraded from .92 to .80 ona friends amoled unit but im not sure for .93, take caution upon trying to downgrade.. better refer to XDA and keep updated there for any methods which is tested working

bryan_823 - thanks for sharing, I prefer the minimalistic look of the stock notification bar icon, and the non-transparent white blackground notification blind tongue.gif

The only thing that I'm looking for is the super-circle battery mod alone (leave other icons as original).... hopefully somebody can make 1 for me in XDA forum
*
u mean for auraxsense 7.1? im using circle batterymod patch right now on it, seems like it works well, im using the same file i used when it was in 7.0.. if ur talking about 7.1, its here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...&postcount=1263 .. sorry if u meant for other rom, i didnt went through, its only the circle battery C mod and no other mods.

ooo then maybe i'll just follow Flash Rom > reboot > flash radio > reboot
biggrin.gif  thx ~

its better to make the rom stable 1st before rebooting it.. neophyte quoted that it takes quite a few minutes for the rom to fully loads and be stable.. u can proceed safely after that smile.gif

A friend of mine is going to fly overseas next week so she desperately need to buy a phone n she really like mine since i customized it so much and tought her android tricks.. haha..

im using only a nokia6288 now, ill be back on HTC when the next snapdragon comes smile.gif. The desire is an awesome phone indeed, no point of selling unless u wanna upgrade to another HTC tongue.gif

no way dude, i wont get an iphone for the time being, im sticking to android and i really wish to see android grow each year, the only product that i wish to have from apple is the macbook pro for now brows.gif

Guy do u all feel that the battery have improved after upgrade to Froyo 2.2,
Last time I change overnight, then only can use for 1 day, now I change for
last night, my phone still at 70% battery. :-)
*
i guess u decreased your usage badly.. yes the battery seems to improve a bit but its not that super significant..

btw guys, i really wish that the guys doing the AMOLED vs SLCD test on evo, droidx, galaxyS, incredible would include the htc Desire SLCD also, i really wanna know how much does SLCD performs battery saving compared to AMOLED. From the test result, we are seeing high significant value on SLCD's low battery consumption despite having 1ghz and 4.3inch (DroidX), the Droid2 does well also with 3.7inch using SLCD panel..

honestly speaking, i prefer power saving over nicer contrast

ya.. i understand..
1st i need root my desire
2nd put a rom.. but i still have not decide my rom  doh.gif

what is radio in desire..  sweat.gif
*
take steps slowly, trust me it would be fun and enjoying rooting and flashing custom rom until u can get addicted to it.. the radio flashing refers to the system config/driver of radio based hardware (wifi, gsm signal etc).. radio also affects batterylife shortly as getting a good signal would be more battery efficient compared to having a bad signal where your phone will try to boost up the reception thus increases power consumption. Take extra note on radio flashing as it is very vital and could brick your device if u flashed a corrupted radio.

My advice is that you try to flash a rom 1st and when you are comfortable and getting along well, then try to flash the radio afterward so things wont go wrong.. and always DO A NANDROID backup.. nandroid can be done via custom recovery. Open up the the big book of android by reading as many as u can and searching for knowledge to become an android power user icon_rolleyes.gif
