Have you partition successful? What is your card memory size shows in quick system info?
If you are using 8Gb then you should left around 7Gb only after partition with 512mb....

Well, on first boot, you cant even find any difference between the first FroYo released by Modaco. The version that is purely stock with added root version. But that version, it gaves me around 135MB+ which is good, even without App2SD+. I thought this would be the same with some small improvement but apparently, there seems to be alot of background changes cause it looses about 100MB in phone memory tongue.gif

I cant cope with 50MB, so, had to download the APP2SD+ version and see whether its better or not smile.gif The thing with Modaco Addons is that i hate Wavesecure. And in prebaked version, as long as you wanted Modaco Addons, Wavesecure is there.
*
You can remove those apps using adb~~
but i never tried as i bake the rom,..... tongue.gif

I did get about 132MB+ after setting up EXT partition. Weird thing is this version came with so much more apps by default but still, even without partition, the free space is better than the stock version.

They remove away something which we don't use actually...like plurk & etc.....
just we dint notice it since we dont really use it~~

A few pages back someone mention about ext2 and ext3 partition, so does the ROM manager create ext3 partition?

By using Quick System info, can it show us whether it is actually an ext3 partition?
*
No, quick system info wont shows......
You can only see if you have linux base OS.....

Need some feedback here.anyone using task killer and does it help in ur battery life and performance? Lately I've unonstall my task killer and I downloaded set CPU. 4am battery was fully charged,I set in setcpu to powersave which should keep my proc at 200mhz. I woke at 11am  left 72%
*
shocking.gif shocking.gif
With set cpu on, off data, off wifi, off auto sync?
i leave it whole night, it will only reduce 2~3% woh, with everything off and cpu at 245MHz

Battery Question again...

Since I last post regarding battery issue, been doing more research.
There is a thread in XDA advocating calibrating the battery, basically charge it full, off it, charge somemore, on it etc etc.

I haven't try that, however got a question.
When fully charged, battery show 4157mv at 100%. (I think that's the normal value according to the XDA thread).
Now, from unplug at 6am till now 10pm, 37% left, battery info shows 3535mv. Is that normal ? Or is calibration out, need to calibrate ?
I mean, if 100%=4157mv, shoudn't 37% be something like 1100mv ??

Any ideas anybody ?

(I'm still on NextSense 5.3, not keen to upgrade to AuraXtSense 7.1 yet even though stated better battery life...a bit doubtful)
*
the battery voltage percentage shouldn't count as proportional....
it is not a straight line graph, so it is not like 100% you have 4157mV then 37% is 4157 x 0.37.
This concept is wrong....

You need a threshold voltage to power up your phone, like 3V or 3000mV.....
so it will reach 0% whenever your battery reach that threshold,
and the percentage of the battery is calibrate base on the threshold....
Battery capacity is not in straight line also, it is something like a cliff...
small gradient at beginning then a sudden drop when your battery is almost finish....

A2SD+ A2SD and froyo....

they seems same to me... and the 512 RAM i think i most that enuff...

so.. custom ROm for A2SD+.... hmmm... just that? since froyo also got same function now..
*
A2SD and A2SD+ is huge difference...
you can have all apps install in sd with A2SD+,
but with native A2SD, you might find less than 20% of apps support that...
which means you will still have more than 80% apps install totally into your phone memory...

512mb ram is you phone memory, not only for apps you install but also the OS which is Froyo with sense...
Normally you will have only 130mb or less phone memory left without any apps install yet....
(*official i'm not sure normally less than 130mb)
and you need to reserve around 30mb of phone memory to keep your phone running smooth...
you hardly install any apps when you phone memory drop to 20mb or less....
so basically you have only less than 100mb for your apps....
If you are playing some nice graphic games which might take around 10 to 20mb of memory,
then you will definitely running short of space....
that's why those root do not want to update the official froyo...

@draco82 : should say WILL NEVER update to official FroYo unless 0.92 can be root tongue.gif
*
nod.gif nod.gif yes.......will never do that.....
some more with official froyo, battery will drop a lot (16 to 20%?, this one need justification from those who update the official froyo) when leave it over night with everything off....
root froyo will only drop 2~3% (with cpu speed set to minimum when sleep)
which will definitely offer more juice when we need it~~

Paid apps as well, i have a few pay apps purchase and install in my phone.....
for phone security, financial management and etc.....
which cant be access using unroot phone.... whistling.gif whistling.gif

so it means that once updated to official froyo, there is no way to go back?
*
Nop, but you need to go through a massive process for hboot 0.92...
hboot 0.93 which come with the official froyo, i dont think there is anyway yet...
but normally rooting way will come out later, just need to wait patiently...

So after a day on Froyo, how does Desire user feels?

Btw, seperate question, you people really like Sense UI? Anyone have the statistic of on that?
*
Yaloh, why you need statistic of other people like or not?
If many people like then you will like? If many people dont like then you also dont like? hmm.gif hmm.gif
If you are root user just try both vanilla and sense...
if you dont plan to root, then find some friends who own a root htc android or N1....
It is kind of personal preference, so i dont think statistic means anything~~

Honestly, vinlimyh, why you need numbers? you like it means you like it, if you dont like it, even if the statistics numbers are high you also wont feel like using it...

BTW anyone notice that the contact's birthday is not the same as in FB? on the phone it showed one day slower...
*
Mine is on the date...no problem~~

*i have a few is 1 day earlier~~ rclxub.gif rclxub.gif in people

i got a question to those whos been using froyo (2.2) in a while..i know some may say the background running apps are no big deal n i should just leave it..cos killing it with task killer and etc will just make it disapear for a moment and eventually the service will rerun again.

now my problem is apps like gchat and fb and gmail are running when i dont want them to..wont this consume more battery since its syncs and stuff when im online just to surf? how do u all overcome this issue..or disable the auto app running issue
*
stop the auto sync and background data in your setting~~
