I don't think constant flashing has any impact to the hardware of smartphone... those developers in XDA flashed their phones more than 100 times for testing but I rarely see any case that they break their phones because of it.

For me, I'll see the change log, if it offers anything interesting then I will flash.
*
i broke my own record by flashing more than 10 times whithin 4-5 hours that day when i faced problem after flashing to 7.6.1. rclxub.gif Luckily, nothing broken. sweat.gif

guys...do u get any probs downloading stuff from  android market? i keep on getting download unsuccesful today. sometimes it takes forever for a download to start up. i'm on auraxtsense btw
*
Try these:
1. Clear your market cache. Setting>>Applications>>Manage applications>>All>>Select Market>>Clear cache
2. Log into your Googletalk.

these are the more common solution. But I run into the same problem and these 2 steps can't solve it. So try the third step:
3. Connect you phone to computer and turn on Hard Disk mode. If your computer pop out 1 msg saying the card has some error, repair it automatically with windows. Now everything will be fine.

If all these can't solve your problem. I dun know what to do liao. sweat.gif

you mean the HTC boot screen will appear for several minutes after flashing?
*
yes, the very first time you boot up after flash, it will take quite a while to boot up.

Wake up only to find my HTC Sense kept restarting itself. I didnt even do anything much to the phone these 2 days. Rebooted, same problem. I think it's asking to be flashed again... time for a new Rom!
*
i think sometime it will just go hirewired suddenly. My 7.1 setup was also quite stable after installing, but after few days usage, it suddenly auto reboot whenever I install some apps - either from Market or with Astro, So no choice I just flash new rom. rolleyes.gif

I have an ext4 partition on AuraxTSense v7.6.1. so whenever I installed app, it will auto installed to the ext4 partition right? but why there is still some apps that ask me to Move To SD under Settings>Applications
*
becoz A2SD+ actually trick the system into believing the apps is installed into phone memory. So when there is an app that support normal A2SD, it will show the option of moving to SD but in fact, it is already in the ext4 in SD card.

Hope my understanding is correct. laugh.gif

1. everyday also charge the phone, previous 2 day 1 time.
is it becoz you just flash the phone, so more usage to play around it? icon_idea.gif Did you flash the latest radio too? I have AuraxTSense 7.6.1 with latest radio - battery life is superb.

2. weather report cacat, - laggy, click only have appear..
no problem on mine, did you turn on auto sync?

3. mobile internet cacat also... always failed, then go to edge..
i dun subscribe to mobile plan, so I dunno this.

4. why still on stock htc sense mode, i tot shud be same like the webpage : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=742371
Upon first boot up, it will be default sense, you just need to change the wallpaper to become like the one at XDA web site.

5. do i need to flash again, to get better performance?
can consider reflash if your system is not stable. I have once also face system stability problem after flash but after a reflash, everything become smooth.

6. how to check have how many ext other then in linux ??
download quick system info from market.

Any recommended case for the Desire?

I got this CAPDASE silicon cover from Lowyat plaza and I find the quality to be somewhat cheap. Plus it's hard to fit it into the phone and I'm afraid it may scratch my phone. I bought it none the less just for temporary use. I'm still looking for a good quality cover.

Anyone got any recommendations? I'm all ears for it.

Thanks...

EDITED: I suspect the case that I got may be a fake. sad.gif

Question..
after i did
flash fontchanger_update*.zip in recovery
then next time i flash the newer ROM... do i need to flash again fontchanger_update if i wanna change the font on the next ROM??  or it will remain inside ?? just like amon_ra  smile.gif
*
i think it is like the circular battery mod, everytime you flash a new rom, need to flash again the fontchanger. So far i haven't flashed mine yet after changing the font.

Guys I did a backup using nandroid and titanium. But after flashing which is safe to restore? I heard some people restore everything then got prob with the phone already.
*
i dun think a full nandroid restore is advisable as it will also revert back to the old rom (correct me if I m wrong). The nandroid is more for reverting back to your old rom if something bad crop out during the flashing. I kena once before - wipe everything and when wanted to flash the rom, found out the rom file in my SD card is corrupted, thus the phone can't boot up. If you have nandroid at this moment, just do a nandroid restore.

for titanium backup, just restore missing apps+data in batch. Then do a one by one restore for system data - those in green colour. But personally I dun restore all too, i only restore my contacts, sms, call history, bookmarks, wi-fi and bluetooth setting only.

hi there, i just got my desire yesterday. am quite new with android, so can anyone take the time to explain to me the terms and all that stuff? thanks smile.gif
*
haha.... you think everyone here is so free? why not you take the time to do your own research. wink.gif

No offence but google is so convenient now - do read it up yourself. rolleyes.gif

First and foremost, read the FAQ put up by our dear friend, Mr. Mike Lee at the first post. It is a good start for newbie. thumbup.gif

Secondly, read your user guide. Learn the basic from there.

Got my Case-mate Tough series today, some pictures:

Front

Back - the slight discolouring in the photo maybe due to dirty len of my camera. The real thing is perfectly black and great.

Top - I overexpose in photoshop to see the cut-out clearly.

Bottom - I also overexpose this.

In my worn out Golla case, kinda too short for the macho Tough Desire now. Looking for a similar but bigger pouch now. These kind of pouch is good for facilitating you to put in and take out from your pant easily. It also adds an additional protection from dust.
user posted image

My little observations on the Tough Case-mate:
1. The silicone inner portion will attract dust like normal silicon case.
2. The outer plastic has a very good feel and won't attract dust/lint. The feel is exactly like what you have for luxury car dashboard kind of rubber (the best description i can think of laugh.gif )
3. It will add bulkiness to the slim Desire but I like the macho'ness it bring instead. I think it is more suitable for guys.

Question! How does the Facebook/Twitter client (Friendstream?) keeps you updated? Push or pull via 3G? How much damage does it do to your bandwidth usage? I'm just curious, as i am undecided between a Torch and the Desire. I reckon that BB is the undisputed champ of keeping people connected 24/7, but i'd like to know how HTC fares too. Thanks!
*
i am not on any data plan yet but with Wi-Fi available at my home and office, i get my personal and office email checked almost instantly (depends on what is the interval you set it in Desire).

what is the link for third party Desire desktop dock in LYN? I am very interested to get one too.

My Golla case has been with me for few years already since my Treo 680. I got it from a handphone shop in JB. I went to the same shop recently but can't find it anymore. I thought there are some sellers offering Golla bag here?

Yeah, I did wipe every single thing. Can't be the rom problem since many people are saying its good (unless they have no problems with it being laggy).
I deleted juice defender and everything seems to be fine now. I hope my problem is solved with the deletion of Juice Defender. unsure.gif
*
with AuraxTsense 7.6.1, it really doesn't need other battery management app like Juice Defender. The latest AuraxTSense really brings great battery life and great performance when you are using it coz of the build in undervolting.
