OCBC : Rebate are given instantaneously, don't need to accumulate

Citibank : 0.3% rebate on other retail purchases
OCBC : 1% rebate on other retail purchases

Citibank : 2% rebate on Grocery shopping
OCBC : 5% rebate on Grocery shopping

Citibank : 2% rebate on Phone bills
OCBC : 5% rebate on Utility bills (which includes Phone, Electricity, Assessment, Astro)

Citibank : 2% rebate on Pharmaceutical shopping
OCBC : 1% rebate on Pharmaceutical shopping

Citibank : No capping on total monthly rebates, except petrol at RM30/month
OCBC : Total monthly rebate max at RM50 (Prinicpal+Supplementary combined)

You decide.....

of that only applies to titanum

was referring to platinum

hmm why is the platinum's rebate lesser than the titatium?
*
Nowadays... Platinum is as common as Gold... as long as the card offers the best bang for your buck, that's the best card to me.

Eligible merchants and their associated merchant category codes (“MCC”) under the OCBC Titanium Cash Rebate Programme are as follow:

5% Cash rebate on Petrol, Groceries, Utility Bills and Dining

i) Petrol/Gas Stations (MCC codes 5541 and 5542)
ii) Grocery Stores (MCC codes 5411, 5422 and 5451)
iii) Utility Bills (MCC codes 4814,s 4815, 4816,4821, 4899 and 4900)
iii) Restaurant (MCC codes 5811, 5812, 5813 and 5814
i got this from cari, what is the mcc?
izzit the merchant using the ocbc machine, then entitle for tat respective 5%?
*
MCC is used by Visa & Mastercard to determine the type of merchant. Not only OCBC terminals... all banks uses the same MCC code for the same type of merchant.
Basically don't worry too much on the codes (unknown to customers)...just spend the OCBC on Petrol, Dining, Utility

de.crystal : To know why OCBC declined your CC application, you need to write an official letter to their Credit Card Application team.

nope, it is fixed depending on your 1st expendicure.

The statement date = the date the card is issued to you.
Can be change based on request... to the CS team of the bank.

QUOTE(Dannyl @ Sep 15 2010, 02:19 PM)
Let's say there's a stall accepting credit card application.  With our info and photocopied IC, what kind of damage can they do if it's a scam?  Can they apply for an actual cc with all of our details except the address, and when the cc arrives at their doorstep, they activate it and start using the card?

What precautions can we take to ensure they are not scammers?  Even if we look at their ID and call up the bank to check, their IDs can be fake too...
*
that's why it's recommended to write the bank and CC type over the photocopy IC/CC to ensure agent cannot "re-use" and can only apply for that bank's CC ...the more specific the better.

For Direct Access, I noticed that they have cash rebates for weekend shopping and petrol, but both are valid till 30 Sept and 31 Dec respectively. Does this mean both are only one-time promotions? No more cash rebates after that?
*
They have been extending their cash-back rebate promotions every quarter.

Just realise that OCBC Titanium Cash back is based on round up/down to the nereast 5sen.

My grocery transaction was RM109.35...
Actual 5% rebate = RM5.47 (RM5.4675)
Given 5% rebate = RM5.45

Direct Access's rebate doesn't take into account of rounding up/down....

The rebate is shown only after the Statement is generated, as a Total Rebate.

My friend's mistake earlier.
I can't see the rebates under the Unbilled Trasactions

OCBC Titanium Total cash rebate is credited on statement date. That means it's the last transaction line in your monthly statement.
Agreed that the FAQ is slightly wrong... rebate is credited in the same spending month (if before the statement date)

How about the last month of promotion??
Max for RM120 till 31 dec or statement date??
*
the rebate will be given on spending before 31 dec 2010.. don't need to care bout statement date.
as for me on 11 Jan 2011, I would get all my RM120 (if all my spending completed before 31 Dec 2010)

Alternatively, add the OCBC Titanium MasterCard into your M2U and charge everything that accepts a third party credit card to your OCBC Titanium MasterCard.

Would there be a transaction charged by Maybank then ?

No. But the number of transactions that will be accepted is rather limited.
Of course the M2U system would favor its own cc product more.
*
Most importantly, can I pay TNB and Telekom bill using the 3rd Party CC under Maybank2U ?
Answer : NO
