will a portable amp makes the sound even better? planning to get the hippo gumstick soon..as for amp..wanna hear some advices 1st

After a testing a few portable amps with few headphones, all i can say is, "depends". Certain amp might make some difference to some headphone and some may worsen it. The characteristic also is very important since amps can sound difference regardless of dac. The best way is to sit down and compare side by side with an unknown song with lots of instrument.
