Taken from my-fjc forum.. Enjoy:

Jerseyman's Review: 2010-2011 Manchester United Away Kit (Shirt+Shorts+Socks)

Yesterday, I was very surprised to find a UPS card inside my postbox.

It seems that the UPS delivery man came today and at first I couldn't remember what I bought... until suddenly I remember.. could it be my pre-ordered Man United away kit? I was surprised because I didn't received any email notification from kitbag (normally they will send an email to notify me that my order was delivered on a certain date).. When I checked my kitbag account, yup.. I was correct. It seems that kitbag has shipped my order on 13th Sept 2010 and it arrived on the 15th Sept 2010. By the way, I pre-ordered the away kit back in August (26th August 2010).

So last night I drove to UPS's warehouse at Jalan Tandang, PJ and self collected my parcel at 8.30pm. Mind you, if you received a UPS card in your mailbox indicating that there was a parcel and unsuccessful delivery, you can go to the HQ at Jalan Tandang and collect it after 7.30pm.

Here's my parcel:

Oh la la.. The away shirt, shorts and socks..

Let's review the new away kit:

1. The Shirt

Manchester United Away Shirt 2010-2011

I think everyone was already aware how the new away kit will look like. No surprises here. It is almost identical to the home shirt except that is has no collars and the lightning pattern on the sleeves. Material wise, you name it..it is the same. The same front layer (bricklayered material with inner bumps or pimples) and back layer (plain material with the 'transformers' looking mesh material). Even the length as well is the same like the home kit. Longer length from top to bottom compared to last season's kit. And by the way, it's also Made in Indonesia as well...

If you just....... BELIEVE.... again

Made in Indonesia... Considered design yet again

user posted image
A bit disappointed with the round neck design.. similar to the ones on Brazil's 2010 World Cup kits

The same 'transformers' styled mesh layer on the back of the jersey

MUFC wordings near the collars

The same lengthy design (with V cutting edges) on the bottom of the shirt (just like the home shirt)

user posted image
The silver HEN in the middle... (sorry I forgot to take photos of the DRI-FIT embroidery)

user posted image
The european styled washing tag inside the jersey

user posted image
The small white nike tag beneath the washing tag that tallies with the barcode sticker on the price tag

user posted image
Inside the price tag.. it states that the launch date was last month.. strange..

2. The Shorts

The shorts is an exact match as to the home shorts and also both goalkeeper home and away shorts (the goalkeeper kits review will be coming soon.. need to complete them with matching socks first which is tricky). Except that on the home and away shorts, there is the red devil logo, the goalkeeper shorts doesn't. More on that later next time hihihi.. patience is virtue.

As usual.. Nike shorts are always Made in Thailand

The red devil logo on the PU stripes at the sides. The logo is in red colour

I don't BELIEVE it.. only the shirts have it beneath the club crest

When I look at the shorts.. a DIY idea springs in my mind... more on that next time... suspense! You've read it here..

3. The Socks

One thing that I was surprised is that for the first time.. the Nike socks is Made in Thailand... Normally it's Made in Greece:

a. What Jerseyman Likes:
user posted image Same material like the home shirt..
user posted image BELIEVE
user posted image New shirt sponsors (no more squarey thingy shaped AIG logo)
user posted image No complicated issues on how to apply the EPL patches on the sleeves

Continued..

b. What Jerseyman Dislikes:
user posted image The design is a bit of a let down.. It looks like a training shirt.. but that's normal.. at first it looks ugly but later when United wins something wearing this.. it looks awesome. Trust me.
user posted image The collars... round neck. I prefer the one like on the home shirt
user posted image The black and red design on the sleeves. Will be a nightmare for me to iron (to avoid colour bleeding and ruining the sleeves)

Jerseyman Ratings (Out of 5 stars)

1. The Shirt:
Design: user posted image (Jerseyman is not so happy with the design.. It looks like a training shirt.. and the collars)
Material: user posted image (Just like the home kit.. DRI-FIT with bricklayered material... bumpy inside)
Cutting: user posted image (Not much difference to the home kit.. the same longer length but some won't like it)
Comfortness: user posted image (Luckily the round neck is not a full round neck, hence no issues on the neck)
Overall: user posted image

2. The Shorts:
user posted image (Simple design. The PU stripe is not as thick as the one on the shirt's sleeves. Just like the home shorts and the goalkeeper shorts.. oppss..)

3. The Socks:
user posted image (Design is a bit unique but nice to see all 3 colours on the socks)

Wow... You got the away shirt already? My pre-order was shipped by kitbag on 14th. Since I've chosen standard delivery, i will only get it in 1-2 weeks. shakehead.gif

BTW, nice review as always. Too bad that we can't have UCL printing on this shirt... vmad.gif

I don't see the point really if the price after conversion is RM180 per RESPECT badge.

For the accurate price of the badge is RM156.9 tongue.gif Hahaha

At least, you no need have to find and apply the respect badge by yourselves smile.gif It also can avoid some seller sell it with more higher price to make their own profit (although official store also quite expensive but i thinks that it is better than buy from another ways, no worry about the condition, surely not a fake product thumbup.gif )

Added on September 16, 2010, 11:00 pmGuys, I've seen alot ppl having the S.Africa patch on their world cup jersey.
If I'm not mistaken, I've asked R1 before, they said it wasn't for sale as they were not available for public.
So I want to ask, after World cup, did they start selling them to the public ?
Thanks smile.gif

FYI most of the fake WC kits come pre-applied with the patch. sigh

And anybody ever bought any badges with an ebay seller called homeofbadges? Does he sells official items?

Thank you

out there as in where...? if you referring to mine here, they are the real deal so no worries. Stick around here long enough and you would know the real and the not plus those who are pretenders and those who are in this hobby for the long run.

and if you have spoken to that fella from that shop you mentioned, he knows crap. Many people can vouch for that. Other member mentioned before about groundless comments coming from him regarding many stuff. Or is he the supplier you guys keep mentioning here always...
