To enjoy your MKV to the fullest...TH-P42V20K  biggrin.gif

But I think 50inch is the way to go....most movies have black bars top and bottom even though you have a widescreen TV.
And I hate pushing the zoom button
*
that's what we call aspect ratio (AR)..
different movie, different AR..

16:9 is the standard for HDTV (without black bar)

and yet most of the bluray and mkv (which is also compressed from bluray) are in 1.85:1 and 2.39:1 format which will have the black bar on the top and bottom because the video is wider than 16:9

so a larger screen is better at displaying it because you don't have to zoom.

that's normal dude..nothing you can do..

if you don't want black bar, home theater projector is the way to go..
the black bar on the top and bottom is less noticeable

right, 21:9 aspect ratio TV

for one, it's rm20K
secondly, most of the material you have will be 1.85:1 or narrower which means 90% of the time you'll have pillar boxes.

I don't think Philips expected to sell a lot of these; it was just a matter of saying "there, we can do it"

well we can zoom it. that will remove the black bar at the expense of cropping the left and right picture.
think i'll go with a larger screen rather than projector at the living room.

If 2TB not enough, then you should consider to get NAS with 8-10TB. tongue.gif
Save space and power plug point.

Build a NAS runs on the Unraid Server then, if you're interested, we can buy the 2 pack license for a cheaper price :-)
