H264 codec is suitable to compress HD movie. That way HD movie always use MKV extension.

mkv (Matroska) is a container format, not a codec icon_rolleyes.gif , just like avi it can contain any codec

its features are :
* Fast seeking in the file
* Chapter entries
* Full metadata (tags) support
* Selectable subtitle/audio/video streams
* Modularly Expendable
* Error resilience (can recover playback even when the stream is damaged)
* Streamable over the internet and local networks (HTTP, CIFS, FTP, etc)
* Menus (like DVDs have)

4.37gb 720p and 10gb 1080p MKV is seriously not same as Bluray quality...

Depends on the equipment you use also to spot the difference

But 40gig MKV and 40gig Bluray same quality 1:1 smile.gif

mkv can have smaller size also between 1 to 2 GB.. It's meant for low quality 720p movie.. quality is like divx movies or better but this one is 720p.

I usually download this one (also called mHD or m720p or micro hd) as I don't really care about video quality.. but I like to enjoy the 5.1 AC3 audio..
