Good idea, SoonWai, but you will need an adapter. I bought myself an OCZ VERTEX 2 SSD 240GB today. Hope to add another one down the road!
*
Very nice. The OCZ was the one I had my eye on initially. Mind sharing where and how much you bought it for?

Hey guys, just wondering if the i7 on the macbook pro is a quad core or still a dual core processor? I have to assume that the i5 is a dual core but not too sure about the i7 line-ups.
*
I think all the mobile i7s are dual core only. I know the one in my MBP is dual core.

I looked at the Kingston also before I bought the Corsair. Does anyone know why the specs on the older V model is higher than the specs on the V+ model? I'm referring to the read/write speeds on the retail box.

I used to own MacBook white fews year back. SC2 out that machine is outdated so i get Alienware m15x been using that for some time and miss Mac alot haha. After 6 month carrying this most powerful laptop in the universe and most heavy laptop in 20th century, and now i'm back to MAC.

MBP 13 tongue.gif. The next day i decided to upgrade the HDD to SSD(OCZ Vertez 2 240gb), and here we go. The boot up time is longer wtf hahaha....

That's wierd, how long was the boot-up before and after the OCZ? I'm also thinking of putting in an SSD in my old MacBook. Hope to give it new life.

Now it take 1 minute +++ so boot up. SSD is fast just that the bootup is slow. Something must be wrong I just dunno why yet. Still searching for solution.

Soonwai, I bought the OCZ VERTEX 2 SSD 240GB at Czone and cost me RM1950. I put it in my Acer running Windows 7 in my office. Booting time is not very fast, about 45 secs, but resuming the system takes about 15 secs. I configured the laptop to go to hibernate when I close the lid; just like my MBA. Another thing is that I order a caddy to put my old hard drive in the DVD drive from ebay (about US18 plus shipping), to be used as a secondary drive or another boot system. After all, why waste a space when I dont use DVD often. Dont know whether it will work or not; just ordered on sunday!

@david890701 yes it does get slightly warm. that's why Apple advises notebook users to use their portable on a firm, solid surface, not your lap )

Yes you can still feel the warmness on the top on the latest MacBook white. I bought a unit only 2 months ago for my brother. The mbp alu model, which I am using is similarly warm.

However surprisingly the latest MacBook air 11" I do not feel any warmness on the top even after 3 to 4 hours continous usage. You can only feel the heat on the base of the notebook

first of all, u dont need to double post. no one answered you because you didnt give enough information. maybe u can give us the exact error message? a photo even. it'll be a huge help. are you sure the screen turned 'blurry' not 'dark'?

u can claim warranty from any authorized apple reseller in the world. not sure about the classes. however, the videos here ( http://www.apple.com/findouthow/mac/ ) are pretty helpful. should cover everything you need to know smile.gif

3rd boot was the fastest for me. Almost as fast as the SSD. Why not just use normal ram from Kingston or Corsair? Isn't the RAM from Apple Reseller expensive?
