Ok so i have this problem ....
1.) baneling bust fails due to good positioning of enemy units / wall
2.) Steamrolled right after that phail bust.

How to prevent (2.) from happening... lol...

Zerg in SC2 not that mobile without creep... Big map encounters are big problem.

For me Terran is Bane-Lisk -> Ultra

Protoss Muta-Ling -> Infestor

Infestor well good for Terran but not so effective because all Terran units have range so they can attack.

Protoss if they go heavy Zealots-> Collusus... A good FG can block to make a good wall to block the zealots from attacking then NP the cullosus and use back againts them.

Only use infestors for Terran is you having trouble with mass bio ball. If you see them going mech. A good magicbox trick with muta can handle thors easily.
*
actually infestors are the core unit vs terran for midgame (see cool/ check/ idra)...
it outranges most units and can stop them in their track for ur units to surround including ur ultras (and recently shown in GSL baneling carpet bomb on tanks)...
if the terranlack detection, jz burrow and infested marine his mineral line etc...

Added on September 28, 2010, 4:45 pmoh ya nt to mention if he goes thor u can neural parasite it...
some of cool's games he even rush for infestors and defended with infestor + speedlings

Come on... Learn slowly... What you see you can't do straight away... Not everybody can do that much micro... Basic builds are what is needed for people who are learning... Watch game are all good and all but doing it straight away?

You watch initial d i know so it like asking you to go race straight away after watching. Hardcore SC2 people are spoiling fun sometimes.

These games are suppose to be fun for some people not everybody must be a platinum or diamond league player.

Tell people the basic unit build and let them learn from there. This is why this thread are for not spamming high level plays at low level players.
*
i think infestors are basic enuff since u need em to get to t3 rite?
wut's the point of not using such a wonderful unit...
when i am new to zerg i loved infestors...

i list out the name of the pros so that the newer players have some idea of its potential rather than jz throwing it out as a useless/ not-effective unit (just like most caster units)

Big Strategy Change... Ultralisk is not a viable counter to Thor anymore after patch 1.1.1. Blizzard made a stealth nerf to them to remove the PF+SCV glitch instead of fixing the splash mechanic.
*
magic box mutas or infestor's neural parasite i guess...
after that just bring ur lings in...

*
well u dun really need hardcounter from wut i watched currently...
cool jz omgbbqwtfpwned nexliveforever on GSL semis (2-0 in cool favor atm)...

fungal growth + baneling carpetbomb is freaking sick! (and totally awesome to watch)

zerg army are mobile vs mech and it just ur best counter...
whenever mexliveforever move to atk, cool jz counter atk the terran first...

Added on September 29, 2010, 6:17 pmcool 3-0 nexliveforever and is now in GSL finals!

i used to avoid using HTs back then as well but in the end to be good in a race u need to use every unit available as they are good for certain situations...
gonna try using more ghosts and ravens as well now when i get terran off random...

ghost dont do much damage to zerg, good for taking out shield on protoss, but ravens, seriously they are really good if you know how to use them well, the PD drones are awesome, extremely good when enemy shoot projectiles that can be intercepted by them, making your enemy useless(it can take 20 bullets each, and it do recharge slowly, a full energy raven can deploy 4 drones, so they can take 80 bullets, thats alot of damage)
*
actually i'm trying to use it to snipe the pesky mutas lol...

Is snipe really worth the energy? I'm really curious.
*
they do actually...
either that or u are forced to stim...
the versatile movement of mutas is one of its best feature which makes every terran fear...
the more the marines stim, the easier ur mutaball gonna kill it later on...

anyone know the steps to do the carpet bombing like fruit did in game 1?
*
just like the move-stop micro...
replace the stop with D for drop...
basically press d + click on drop position, move after drop then press d + click on 2nd position n repeat...

On high level play, hydra is rarely being made, the popular one goes like.. Ultra, zergling (must have?), Muta, Baneling (must have too?), Infestor, Roaches.

Roaches warren are builded even at time when they are not needed too, just as precaution when something bad happens i guess
*
tell that to idra...
idra <3 hydras lol

are zerg really that hard to play compare to terran or protoss ?

lose almost all games yesterday almsot give up zerg want to try other race.

sigh.,.
*
its not hard, its just different due to the larvae mechanic...
all race have their own mechanics but rts veterans are more used to terran's production queue system...

yeah haven't got that "feel" towards zerg build mechanics and such. the larvae production is slow + you have to distribute it for harvesters and overlords. i think this should take lots of experience to capture that feel for plaaying zerg
*
if u got good map control (overlords/ creep) and game sense, u can go heavy drone...
when u see him moving, just pump speedlings or any other defensive units while u macro up...
that's hw i usually play my zerg...
