korean pros has been experimenting with stargate openings nowadays...
u can get phoenixes out faster than banshee now and with that u can spot if there's a tech-lab starport to prepare for obs...
if they are not careful, u can even snipe the banshee/ raven (especially since patch 1.2 will be buffing phoenix build time)...

i usually do 1 stargate as based on what i've scouted, i can go VR (if he wall) or go phoenix with chrono (1 base cant support 2 stargate phoenix with chrono btw so i dun really like doing that on 1 base)...
i'll couple that with 2-3 gates usually...

i dun really rush colossus as well...
they are more to my late game units (when i'm on 2 base or 3 base) as u still need them for their sustained DPS in the end and they work great with storms...
but since usually u need robo for obs, they are a pretty decent transition...

well u are correct...
i rarely stick to 1 base...
all my match ups revolve around 2 base play at least...
since toss on 1 base cant support the gas requirements (unless PvP going 3gateblinks)

a good player would knw about dt by just listening to the slashing sound...
i can even spot ripples and warm my teammates during out team games...
with enough experience, u rarely die to DT unless it is a BO lost though banshee are the opposite as they can fly with 6 range =(

1. broodlords
the transition to get broodlords out is very very hard for zerg...
and depending on ur tech path there's various solution to it...
the first would be blink stalkers, blinking under it and focus firing and this work in line wit the 2 base pure gate build (+1 or +2)...
the 2nd would be VRs when u open with stargate (very popular in KR)...
depending on what tech u are doing, jz stick to it as it is a big investment to tech switch and the lack of time to respond...

2. PvP
PvP naturally depend on the aggressor...
the immortal is useful for the defender in many ways as it deals a truckload of damage stalkers and most aggressive PvP builds revolve around stalkers...
it can be a filler till u get ur colossus (teching straight to colossus is suicidal)...
there are also builds which used immortal + VR to oppose colossus play from the opponent (check TL on this) which had found success and will be better with patch 1.2 VR changes (+20% damage to massive)

he used a probe to cancel the xel'naga control by rainbow's scv while moving his warp prism...

and according to my fren, the solution to the tank push by terran is to stick to 1 base (HuK seemed to do this a lot in his stream)

normal pull time
1. put ur buildings on ur ramp so there's only 1 hole for 1 zealot... his ling wont past through and it'll be a 1ling vs 1 zeal at a time since he cant surround until ur sentry etc is out... chrono a zeal if needed

If his pool is very early
1. pylon block below his ramp
2. complete wall off with cannon

normal pooling time is 12-14 food for him (around 13-16 for u)...
anything before is an early pool imho...

will past through...

usually zerg gas with pool so when his pool is done, he can get speed-ling research started

warp prism is a great addition to the toss army considering it is a mineral sink when u are running low on gas...
many avoided it as a proxy pylon give supply as well and they dun complement ur army that well compared to let say a medivac healing MMs...
still it has lots of potential...
look at whitera's 3gate warpprism timing push build to break the terran's early defense...
i think when SC2 mature, it'll be used a lot more...

hmmm u need to stay on 1 base as well...
huk did 1 base colossus for it (as most toss respond with 2 base colossus usually) and now he is 4th and 5th in KR server (watch more of his stream)...
if on 2 base u can try cannon (whitera) or phoenix (the most common respond)...

generally u would want to ENGAGE OUTSIDE OF YOUR BASE...
force the PDD, throw down some FF and retreat for the 2nd engagement without any PDD from their army...

yup which is why some pro toss decided to stick with 1 base for the ramp advantage...
some of my frens over at sg (top 200 for sure) agreed that its better to just stay 1 base when u see the terran gearing for a 1base timing...

btw yesterday's code A showed the next terran imba all-in build...
1 base: blue flame hellion + cloak banshee + stimmed marauder with concussive + 1-2 medic + raven PDD and PUUUUUUUUL ALLLLLLLLLLLLL YOURRRRRRRR SCVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV...

ya he pulled all his scv when he have energy to get 2 PDDs out LOL...
that was so painful to watch even when the toss was having a nice concave, pulling probe (lol blue flame)...
tastosis was like, that is such a good all-in attack...

- hallucination (especially wit the buff)
