@ narf03

1 question, when you upload data to the tower, you did it simultaneously or 1 by 1 ? Coz if we were to do it 1 by 1, I doubt I could finish it in hard mode before 20 minutes ~ rclxub.gif

i got 2 teams, the giant thor can be on its own, it goes to the right, another team take the air base on top left, then join force back to center base.

the giant thor can move right away after the timer start while you making another team, just make sure its repaired, being some scv with it, turn off the auto repair, cause if they attempt to repair when its attacking, very high chance they will be killed, manual repair better. i think i did it in like 15-16mins. i didnt do the secret mission objective along within the 20 mins, so i redo the mission which take longer. i think u can do it along with the 20 mins, just make another small team, few marines will do, nothing there to attack you.

Okay, thanks a lot for the tip ~ Will try it out thumbup.gif

Update: Once again, thanks narf03 for yur advice ~ I manage to complete it in 19 minutes ~ thumbup.gif

I notice that by conducting a simultaneous attack on 2 different spot at the same time is the key here . . . hmm.gif

wah you guys attack both places at once? smile.gif i attack 1 by 1 also can make it la.

a lot of people make the mistake by whacking everything until the Odin is KO. that's not the way.

what I did was Odin carefully hit banshee and other production structure on the top base. then the base right beneath it. Keep odin alive.

once the ambush is over, pair the Odin with Thor, throw along 3 - 4 SCV and you can go the upper base already. during this time, build some marine and siege tanks.

call in some viking support, 5 will do. the base at the bottom will have battlecruiser coming.

so ok finish the 1st base on the top. use Thor to sit there and Odin to hit everything else.

Now meet with your next squad at the bottom base. before go up the ramp, you can have siege tanks in siege mode. most up slowly and clear off most things, and place siege tanks before starting the upload.

incoming shouldn't be too tough.

after done, just move all your forces to the top. clear them with siege tank and thor bombardment. after that, it's all good. 100% is done quite fast also. biggrin.gif

I tried by doing 1 by 1, but always end up 22 - 25 minutes ~ sad.gif

After doing some google + gettting help here, I find most of them all do simultaneous attack ..

With this tactic, I tried but my 1st simultaneous attack failed coz I'm not good at managing multiple events at the same time ~

Only success on my 2nd attempt ~ blush.gif

tongue.gif looks like i'm one of the rare people to do it 1 by 1. i find it better this way. cos all forces converge.

i did it one by one too. i think i destroyed 1.5 bases with odin, so there wasn't much resistance after that.

anyway raid night achieve get! re-playing all the missions on normal was soooooooooo easy. and kinda boring, lol.

So the 8 hours is they just count the total of hours played for all your normal campaign ? blink.gif

Btw, anyone done the achievement for completing 5 hard mission ? I don't quite understand on how this achievement works, coz I played 1 round of campaign on normal mode, and then now I access the archive to do the hard mode, but it seems that for each hard mission I complete, there is no update for the achievement ~ rclxub.gif

Wings of Liberty: Hard 5 <=--- should be this one, right?

you can see my completion is 4 out of 5. 5th one needs 25 missions to be done, which I already done that but i also donno why it doesn't count.

If you scroll down my achievements,

Liberty Completionist: Hard (Complete all 29 Wings of Liberty campaign missions on Hard difficulty.) I'm already 28/29. sad.gif

so with what you brought up, i feel like i kena short-changed. tongue.gif 28 mission on HARD and the fella don't give me 25 mission reward. sad.gif

Huh? 5th one is for 25 missions ? I don't think so, simply because there was once where I start off my game on hard mode, and I only manage to do the 1st 2 campaign, ended up with my achievement for this as 2/5 ~

In addition, apart from ?/5, there is an accumulated for the next 5, and so on ~

Then, after I switch back to normal mode, it seems that this achievement doesn't update anymore for archive, I think for this achievement to work, I have to do in campaign mode and not in archive ~

I got all the hard achievement, with lacking the "lost viking achievement and also brutal achievement" =.=.

For the Ambush mission, I used Odin to whack the tank base, clear all of them to make sure no more army and factory inside.means that after ambush, they will be 1 empty base for me to straight access the tower.

After the ambush, I used Odin alone to whack the right base and straight access the tower, but after all the flying units came b..i control my Odin back to my base in which my base has many upgraded Anti-air missele turret..lol...killed all of them in secs.

Straight sent it to left with some goliath, it will not be a problem for goliath to kill all of the flying unit in left base. After access it, straight go to the tank base to access, save many time more due to it is an empty base.

I manage to complete it in 16 mins mark.

@braska: most foolproof way is to just restart normal campaign. it's actually pretty fast, what you do is skip as many missions as possible, and for those of us who played hard/higher it's super easy. i followed this guide from teamliquid forums, only takes like 4-5 hours.

QUOTE
I would do the first three Zeratul missions asap because they are all really fast, and then ditch the fourth one because In Utter Darkness takes ages.

I would skip Tosh all together. None of the three units you get for his mission line are any good and the first two missions take quite a while to do as well.

Something like this seems like it'd be fast. Giving some aproximate times based on how fast I did these on my hard play through and on brutal if my brutal time was better which was mostly the case since I knew what I was doing on brutal. Rounded some of the times down a little cause I know they get dramatically easier on normal:

Liberation Day (5m) -> The Outlaws (5m) -> Zero Hour (20m) -> Smash & Grab (10m) -> 40m total aproximately

-> Evacuation (20m) -> Outbreak (25m) -> Train Robbery (20m) -> Safe Haven (10m) -> The Dig (takes ages, on hard and brutal, dunno if it's much shorter on normal because I guess there are a lot less things to shoot with your laser beam, call it 35m but maybe a lot shorter). -> 115m total

-> Whispers of Doom (20m) -> A Sinister Turn (20m maybe a lot less on normal) -> Echoes of the Future (5m) -> The Mobius Factor (10m) -> 170m total

Cutthroat (20m) -> Supernova (20m) -> Maw of the Void (30m) -> 240m total. That's 4 hours to get to Char.

[edit] wewt got my lock and load achieve, so that completes all my 'story mode' achievements. 92%! others remaining are the lost viking and the brutal mode achieves ... those ... do later lah ha ha.

oh. ALL IN on NORMAL mode is damn easy. just a bunch of siege tanks guarding the bunker, and some banshee flying around whack the nydus. settle already.

normal mode even Kerrigan is nothing to worry about.

I chose to neutralize the nydus before the All-in mission..so I am pretty handy in the hard mode game.

Just build a lot of BC and viking, while with your upgrade Anti-air turret, no problem to def at all, just having prob when Kerrigan came and simply destroy my BC in 1 hit..once she came, I lost at least 4-5 BC..damn

ur playing all in hard? (super hard if nydus gone loolololol) then need at least ~20 BC. have ALL OF THEM YAMATO KERRIGAN. you will lose 1-3 while ur cannons are charging. you can prolly get some marines to bait before charge so you can prolly save the cruisers.

the objective is to kill kerrigan within ONE yamato. (from all of the BC)

ya..i straight play hard mission in all campaigns lol...i thought that normal is too easy, no challenge..brutal too hard..biggrin.gif

so I can gain all achievement w/o replaying..tongue.gif

no need yamato ler, Just keep 10 tanks each side, with a "slow zerg" building nearby, kerrigan will just die with 2 BC or 3-4 tanks nia..biggrin.gif

and at the last I lifted all my buildings surrounding the nova and my tank just bombard ground armies while my vikings + BC own the air..no problem to def...hehe

Added on August 30, 2010, 2:13 pmone more thing to add, luckily the anti-air turret upgrade in campaign is not available in ladder, or else really OP d..haha

yeah, having problems with Kerrigan 1 hitting the BC's

i did bait her to aim for the structures 1st(which worked, before yamato spam), tweaking the positions of every unit a little.

problems are the spams of zergs, !@#$%^&*

didnt try to spam much banshee's, coz i was spamming my starports for BC's

i must have left out something, i did try the Siege tank spam option, b**** kerrigan seems to have some kinda one shot shit on em

i reckon it was my Nova timing

banshee is useless..remember build the "slow zerg" building, all those ground units dead before reaching my bunker lol...

tank >> banshee in this mission cause when kerrigan cast "storm-like" spells, those banshees will die in seconds lol
