The Robbery Train achievement....... ANy strategy to share.....
i got mine easy by using bunkers+siege tanks on the sides of the tracks. if you did the siege tank mission after train robbery, i'm not sure if you can then go back and play it with siege tanks available though.
eh, how to do the 'don't let protoss cap any terrazine' achievement ... the mission hard enough to complete on hard, some more need to snipe every single drone they have ... ??
the ghost mission took me 1 hour to find and make sure every unit and structures are killed/destroyed so many turrets hiding faraway...lol
no need to kill all turrets, i got that achievement and i'm pretty sure i left one turret alive at the 1st map.
@narf thanks, finally able to get it. didn't totally ignore goliaths, but massed marauder/medic/marine this time. marauder/medic lasts damn long, previous tries i was goliath only and those die like flies to voids & stalkers.
@fries hehe the helions worked! those far-far away ones i just sent 4 helions to suicide on the probe. the most annoying part is that when the 'toss have a mass of units around, it's hard to right click on the small probe ...
@ray just to add on for the 750 kills, what you do is that use your phoenixes to graviton beam the hybrids when they come in mass. this lets your colossus/etc pick off the weaker units first before engaging the hybrids.
and then once you finish off the protect that building for 20 minutes (or whatever) objective, you can pull back to the higher ground which is much easier to defend.
@PJ that mission where got battlecruiser or banshee? we talking about Welcome to the Jungle leh. You can postpone it that long to do it after the end of the tychus/artifact mission arcs? o_o
is that the one that you need to bring zeratul to all 4 overlord tentacles? you can 'cheat' on that by just blinking zeratul to the 4 tentacles and finish within like 4 minutes.
omg finally got 1 shot 50 kills. tried like 20 times lol. and master of the universe was annoying too ... actually quite 'easy' achieve just slow and tedious, and need to keep good track of units >_< ... the previous try i think i lost 1 dark templar inside the ripfield >_<
... btw single player cannot save replay meh? after i got my echoes of the future in 4 mins thing wanted to save replay and send to my brother but got no option to save also ...
@eehtsitna i'm pretty sure buildings not included. i let my refineries and all my building add-ons (i.e. the reactors/tech labs) burn but still got the achievement.
Dominion Roundup - Rescue 10 Drop-Pods of Dominion Troops in the "Gates of Hell" mission on Hard difficulty.
Was having one hell of a time getting it until I read that you don't have to keep them alive, so just dropping a MULE on one counts as a 'rescue' (even though they die to the zerg).
@fries need to micro a bit. send battlecruisers in, leave science vessels/scv's at the edge of the ripfield area. if your bc's run into resistance, micro the yellow/orange ones back to the healer area (guarded by dark templar).
also, just need to note that dark templar only immune to ripfield when they have shields up. once their shelds are down they can also die to ripfield.
Not So Brutalisk Kill the Brutalisk in the “Piercing the Shroud” mission without losing a unit to the Brutalisk on Normal difficulty.
Lock and Load Locate all 13 weapon pickups in the “Piercing the Shroud” mission on Hard difficulty.
These are the only two of the 'regular' achievements I'm missing (not including the brutal, and 8-hour normal campaign). Dunno why I keep losing a marine to the brutalisk. Even when I put raynor waaaaay in front, the brutalisk will still take a detour to swipe at a marine halfway and one hit kill him =_=;;
Then lock and load ... the first part is easy peasy but the second part wah ... panic lol when the hybrid is chasing ...

i think i recall reading somewhere that only one science vessel can repair one unit at any time, so even if you bring 5 vessels your healing output to odin isn't high.
on the other hand you could theoretically spam scv's and they would all repair him at once.
also, odin has killer ground attack but (relatively) weak air attack.
speaking of placement, my brother won 5 of his placements using terran wall/mmm medivac drop and got into platinum league and now he's super frustrated because he can't win anything.
i won 2/5 and went into bronze. i sux at multiplayer, haha, even in bronze i only got a 50/50 win ratio.
Did some random google for Hot Shot and it seems nobody really knows how to get it either.
@braska: most foolproof way is to just restart normal campaign. it's actually pretty fast, what you do is skip as many missions as possible, and for those of us who played hard/higher it's super easy. i followed this guide from teamliquid forums, only takes like 4-5 hours.
QUOTE
I would do the first three Zeratul missions asap because they are all really fast, and then ditch the fourth one because In Utter Darkness takes ages.
I would skip Tosh all together. None of the three units you get for his mission line are any good and the first two missions take quite a while to do as well.
Something like this seems like it'd be fast. Giving some aproximate times based on how fast I did these on my hard play through and on brutal if my brutal time was better which was mostly the case since I knew what I was doing on brutal. Rounded some of the times down a little cause I know they get dramatically easier on normal:
Liberation Day (5m) -> The Outlaws (5m) -> Zero Hour (20m) -> Smash & Grab (10m) -> 40m total aproximately
-> Evacuation (20m) -> Outbreak (25m) -> Train Robbery (20m) -> Safe Haven (10m) -> The Dig (takes ages, on hard and brutal, dunno if it's much shorter on normal because I guess there are a lot less things to shoot with your laser beam, call it 35m but maybe a lot shorter). -> 115m total
-> Whispers of Doom (20m) -> A Sinister Turn (20m maybe a lot less on normal) -> Echoes of the Future (5m) -> The Mobius Factor (10m) -> 170m total
Cutthroat (20m) -> Supernova (20m) -> Maw of the Void (30m) -> 240m total. That's 4 hours to get to Char.
[edit] wewt got my lock and load achieve, so that completes all my 'story mode' achievements. 92%! others remaining are the lost viking and the brutal mode achieves ... those ... do later lah ha ha.

Got Wings of Liberty: Brutal 10 and hooooly crap brutal is so hard. I think the last 5 missions I probably saved/reloaded/restarted close to 20 or more times ... lol.
