Hey, just a question here.

I just want to know how long it takes to download the B-Net client onto the system? My cousin claimed that it took a whoopin 40 hours to get it done. Is this true?

Also, I'm planning to get the game once I got my new PC (potential specs here: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1516787). Is there anything I need to know while installing/playing the game?

Sorry for being out-of-date here, I've not bought any new PC games since Hitman: Contracts, which is like 6 years old now. blink.gif

Okay thanks for info.

One more thing is, after installing, the game ask you to patch. How to patch? Does it run automatically? Sorry for being ignorant on this smile.gif

Now, my customer tell me he can't press the run button......faint cry.gif

I used to have darn a lot issues with SC2 as well, best solution I did was, re-installed my Windows and everything worked fine!

One of the causes was that I tried to use those optimizing softwares which sort of screwed up my PC TCP settings which causes SC2 to crash and not even detect the internet.

Hi,
I think your processor will be the bottleneck as RTS is more processor intensive. The game will runs smoothly for all campaign mode but will drag on massive 4 vs 4 battle on the internet.

Graphic card 9800 is just on the border line. It works but not in ultra setting. Why that particular card? I believe you can get better bang with a little extra money.

not sure if i can post links here but u can get some nice info on the us.battle.net technical support.

@pakabluegun

Firstly, thanks for the reply. Well, actually i just chose the GeForce 9800 GTX because in the Starcraft Rig thread, i saw a poster that has an almost similar rig to mine so i thought that it might be a good choice.

The website you introduced was helpful in explaining different graphic cards performances in SC2.

Well, the main problem i have now is i still do not understand whether my motherboard is compatible with all the upgrades needed (processor or graphic card). sad.gif

I am just hoping that a peak upgrade limited by my motherboard will allow me to play SC2. Not really willing to spend on a new motherboard. Thats like buying a new computer right? :S

HaruPuhi,

most graphic card will work but make sure your power supply have enough power to supply to the graphic card and that the card actually fits inside your desktop casing as some graphic card are quite long. If you are buying nvidia there is less worries on the power but do a CPUZ printout to your hardware shop if you are going for the ATI which are more power hungry in general.

Also know that it is pointless to get a top tier graphic card as your processor will not be able to *draw that fast.

icon_idea.gif I am also a budget gamer and i just upgraded my RAM and graphic card to play SC2. thus i know a little of this things.

for your reference

I'm using Geforce 9800 GTX+ too. You could push to ultra but the fps will drop when there are lots of units so I'm satisfied with high.

AMD AthlonX2 2.2GHz

i dont have any problem that you met =/

actually you can play offline for campaign and versus AI,
I get my patch done in 20-30 minutes where I am using streamyx 1mb internet package.

so i think your problem is only specific to you lor...

be patient and solve the problems 1 by 1..and enjoy

how much RAM you have and what is your current available memory when you're alt tabbing? most of this issue is due to page file clearing and reacaching while alt tabbing in/out of windows/sc2

IF you encounter the missing cursor problem, basically try to "blindly" set the graphic option to "windowed" mode.

The cursor will then start to properly get rendered and moves accordingly.

Unfortunately I have yet to find a proper way to fix it.
