Ok, I finally caved in to pressure and reinstalled Starcraft II just to get that damned multiplayer thing working again.
To my surprise, it worked. huh. |

For those folks that have issue with their pc hanging up on them, you should go read up on the bug that cause the GPU to overheat. I manage to sort out my problem after i deal with the bug.

well, there's 1 problem when u accidentally press the window button or alt+tab out then back to SCII...
my screen will be black for a few seconds (depending on the display tat time, if huge army or battling then will take longer) then oni came back the SCII display... so maybe when it hang or blackout...try wait a while... when i face tat black screen...i also tried open task manager n close it a few times due to impatient seems like a GPU resource eater Added on August 5, 2010, 5:18 pmps: i've already set the cap This post has been edited by aLertz: Aug 5 2010, 05:18 PM |

QUOTE(aLertz @ Aug 5 2010, 05:18 PM) well, there's 1 problem when u accidentally press the window button or alt+tab out then back to SCII... you may lock ur windows/alt tab functions via sc2 optionsmy screen will be black for a few seconds (depending on the display tat time, if huge army or battling then will take longer) then oni came back the SCII display... so maybe when it hang or blackout...try wait a while... when i face tat black screen...i also tried open task manager n close it a few times due to impatient seems like a GPU resource eater Added on August 5, 2010, 5:18 pmps: i've already set the cap and yes, it does rape gpu. my gpu load is between 50-80% during sc2. no other games managed to push it that far ever lol. hence my need for a cooler and i've finally got that settled and am very satisfied with it. |

QUOTE(kianweic @ Jul 29 2010, 09:41 PM) For technical support Q&A. When I put this in variable.txt , my starcraft 2 cannot play on High or Ultra mode GC Overheating in SC2? QUOTE The following information was taken from: http://gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/201...eating-bug.aspx "Anyone else have StarCraft II try to melt their hardware? Blizzard admits that it's a known issue and has a fix for you. Apparently, the game's menu screens aren't framerate-limited. This means that when there's nothing else going on, your graphics hardware renders the bejeezus out of those screens, causing nasty overheating problems. The fix is easy, requiring players to add the following lines to your "Documents\StarCraft II\variables.txt" file: frameratecapglue=30 frameratecap=60 Good to know. Personally I would have appreciated a heads-up before my video card fried, but maybe this can save someone else from the hassle I've been dealing with since yesterday afternoon." Keep Bumped. --- "Come get some!" -Ash |

QUOTE(Sky.Live @ Jul 30 2010, 02:53 PM) win 7 ultimate, 1680x1050, ATI 4850, c2d 3ghz with 4gb ram.. I guess it's not a too bad rig to run sc2, only problem is that tab in and out taking forever. Maybe I should disable the other screen when I play sc2? This has always been a problem for us ATI 4800 series owners with Blizzard games.need to switch to gamer mode for my keyboard too as always accidently press start button It happens for World Of Warcraft as well. I own a 4870 card. I hate alt-tabbing in and out of game as it takes a while to load back the game. Therefore, I play both games in windowed full screen mode. However, I find this mode to have some lags unlike real full screen. But I like being able to use messenger, surf net and still play the game at the same time. I just have to set my graphics to High instead of using Ultra. |
