So, well, cannot solve this problem. No sp, no replays, no quick match (button greyed out stated - not available while downloading). after some time it will show that downloading failed. Then nothing works. Reinstall no avail. Any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem as well. Anyone who can play after the patch, mind uploading the cache folder?

If you guys have friend's that have the maxis broadband usb modem, borrow it from them. That's how I am updating my client right now.

Thanks to RoTiJoHN and INcX, we managed to solved the problem. Go to NA server, download everything u need and return to SEA. SEA connection sux

just wanted to share. if any of you out there have problems patching, you can also try downloading the manual patch from this link (the file is 130mb or so).

i spent hours earlier today trying to patch but had weird problems like sc2 crashing without error messages and infinite patch loops after a fresh reinstall. finally got hold of the manual patch and luckily it worked

Is SC2 offline LAN available yet?

It'll never have that option available to curb piracy...

If there's even a battle.net LAN i wont mind as well, like you are able to play via LAN but u still gotta login 1st, since the connection is a lot more smoother for that

Yea kinda valid point.
Just that it makes it easier to hack the game since the lan program code is built in with the client.

single player button greyed out...how to solve this? go to NA server, it says your copy of sc2 is not associated with...bla bla bla...how?

argh.. just when i thought i had stupid problems with bnet connection.. now after patch cant even play anything! sigh.

I've had the same issue even though my beta experience was very smooth. Yesterday I tried my luck by connecting to a VPN before starting up SC2 & guess what? IT WORKS!

Something is definitely wrong with the SG server since I've no issue downloading from the US site during beta & yet, the IAH guys wouldn't admit it. For temporary workaround, go & download the Hotspot Shield VPN, turn it on before you start your SC2.

It is still trying to download updates from the server when you login to the game.
It might take some time or forever if you have problems like most of us with the IAH servers.
As for NA Access. You need to go to battle net site and add the Starcraft 2 for NA region to your account.
Its free so don't worry about it.

Just go to NA servers. Most of us have solved the problem by going there to download all the maps.


Not sure what is your problem. What problems are you facing?
Black screen when you start the game?
Do you get the login screen?
You get a blue screen of death?

The normal resolution would be to update your graphic card drivers.
I had to update mine before I can play.
Before that all I get was a black screen.

incx already fixed his problem by going to NA server to download everything.
So if for those who don't really know how to use the vpn software, just go to NA server and get your maps.

Can you show me the screenshot where you have this region selector button? I've added NA to my profile but when I start SC2, I don't see any particular button that allows me to switch to the NA region.

That is because you have Remember Account selected.
So you have already reached the part to key in your password.

Just click the back arrow key beside your account name.
You will see the region button on the bottom left.

wait i tried to select NA region, but when i try to login it says dont have account.. so how do i download the maps? blur.. enlighten me pls

Added on September 25, 2010, 7:06 pmoh one more thing.. after this new patch.. i cant quit.. after i click quit game button. the game just freezes with the background still moving and mouse still works.. but it doesnt quit.. have to alt tab then ctrl alt del then manually end it.. wtf. lol gonna reinstall now

First of all, have you tried to add the NA client into your Battle.net account? Browse to http://sea.battle.net, login & click on ACCOUNT at top right of the page. You'll be able to see the games that you own. Add the SC2 NA region (just below your SC2 SEA region) & you should be able to join the NA region.

I also encounter the same background freeze issue when I completed the patch. However, after rebooting the system, it's back to normal.
