Hi, just wanna ask, since this is sony alpha thread. Which of the Sony Alpha model are comparable to Nikon D90? I got RM3500-4000 to spend but wanna avoid Nikon like H1N1 because of their shitty after sales service here.

then i suggest u go for it. market normally from rm450-650, depends on its condition...it just that you may found it abit cropped when using APS-C
Seller is offer me at RM570.

QUOTE(sonyx @ Jul 29 2010, 12:20 PM)
yup..35mm at APS-C body you may find it not to wide for group photo for example. but you can always move a bit to fit your frame.

the MFD of this lens also if i'm not mistaken was a bit far (1.5m i think), but the picture quality is very sharp. and the macro mode was very useful. add raynox, then you can go for macro outing already!

ya la bro...the mfd abit turn down but this lens is useful for potrait also...just love the bokeh @ 105mm...

QUOTE(sonyx @ Jul 29 2010, 12:34 PM)
once you get it, you wont regret..i tried few times (my friend punya!), bokeh and sharpness are very good. lucky i have another 'good' lens, if not i may find one.

Get it.. Thx.
Will go to grab it ... for my out door potrait. thumbup.gif

The A550 is more or less comparable to the Nikon D90. Only thing is the A550 has no video. The A700 is comparable to Nikon D300 ler... Now waiting for A7xx to see what suprises Sony has in store for us.

The 85mm f2.8 lens is looking real good. Hopefully the price is even better... hehehehehehe....

The announced price is cheaper than the Tamron SP90; (250Euro =RM1000++) and price in Asia should be much lower so is quite impressive "entry-level" FF portrait lens

while 35mm F1.8 is also cheaper as well (thus much cheaper than the Nikon 35mm DX?) (200Euro =RM830++)

i think if the price nearly same or topup 2,3 hundred bucks, better take tamron... F2.8 kinda turn off abit somehow.. if 1.8, no need to think anything lol.. but that 35mm, i really need that. drool.gif

ahpingko : The 85mm is not macro lens. It's just a normal lens. If the price comes to sub RM 1k then it's a bargain no matter which way you look at it.

Plus points:

- It's compact! You can slip in into your pocket!
- It's f2.8 - not the brightest but heck at its price it's as good as it gets.
- It's reported to perform well, even wide open.

Minus points:

- It's plastic so build quality is so-so.
- Looks like an el-cheapo kit lens!

I'm looking forward to testing this lens when it hits the shops.
