if you shoot at f1.4, of course la u dont see the sharpness!

then no wonderlah u said not that sharp. put it at f2 and you see how

say say only?    get the new 24mm CZ lo.

street price maybe cheaper. its been a while since i do a price police...

The announced price is cheaper than the Tamron SP90; (250Euro =RM1000++) and price in Asia should be much lower so is quite impressive "entry-level" FF portrait lens

while 35mm F1.8 is also cheaper as well (thus much cheaper than the Nikon 35mm DX?) (200Euro =RM830++)

i think if the price nearly same or topup 2,3 hundred bucks, better take tamron... F2.8 kinda turn off abit somehow.. if 1.8, no need to think anything lol.. but that 35mm, i really need that. 

ahpingko : The 85mm is not macro lens. It's just a normal lens. If the price comes to sub RM 1k then it's a bargain no matter which way you look at it.

Plus points:

- It's compact! You can slip in into your pocket!
- It's f2.8 - not the brightest but heck at its price it's as good as it gets.
- It's reported to perform well, even wide open.

Minus points:

- It's plastic so build quality is so-so.
- Looks like an el-cheapo kit lens!

I'm looking forward to testing this lens when it hits the shops.

you should learn more about macro shooting from different article first b4 you start asking which one to buy...macro wasn't tat easy to play...especially if you have handshaking issue ..sp90 or 100f28 macro wasnt tat easy for you to control..

Now it would be nice if Sony would acknowledge the efforts and bring out their 500mm F4G SSM already! The Minolta 400mm F4.5G HS APO was a hidden gem, a lightweight telephoto (lightweight compared to similiar lenses in the same range.)

Zicron: The Minolta 600mm F4G HS APO looks different, more skinny and Star Trek-like.

zstan: Sounds like the salesgirl had a gentle face.

You could sue them for dissatisfactory results.

Uzumaki NaruTo: I sniped my sister's graduation from HELP with the Zeiss 135mm from a few rows back. Had to crop a bit, but it worked.

eugenechiuu: The 18-55mm is a lot better at closeups than the 16mm is. However when you're in a tight space, the 16mm will let you shoot a wider angle than the 18-55mm (e.g. your friend sitting right next to you.)

lwliam: Awesome pans, I like how streaked out the background is, compared to the regular sunny-day exposures.
