Stop writing nonsense ya. No1 is saying it's a lousy camera. We're merely discussing it coz sum1 asked about it earlier on. Don't be childish n start ranting like a fanboy.

well, it IS a peace of mind knowing that your gears wont malfunction due to environmental causes. plus, as ianho said, and i do agree, that seeing the price of CZ is comparable in price with L lenses, but L lenses do come standard weather sealed, but none of the CZ is. they should improve on that.

i didnt even imply that anyone is saying that its a lousy camera. i didnt even made any reference to any camera as a matter of fact. im not even ranting. perhaps you misinterpreted the tone of my statement. im simply implying that the lack of weatherproof feature is not such a huge turn off.

mike, well, its a matter of choice and usage. those who use their cameras to put bread on their table certainly need weather proofing. its there that sony is losing out in the pro market. sports, wildlife and reportage all need weather proofed gears. so to them, it IS a turn off

guys, bout weather proof thingie. lets sum it up

It's Protected from Dust and Moisture. it Does Not Mean its Weather Proof. Period.

and YES, it will mean a lot to some people working in harsh environment.

i think Sony higher end lenses might not have all weather sealing, but i believe they are Built to Withstand a Certain Amount of Environment Condition. maybe its just people misunderstand when ianho keep mentioning its not weather proof, making people think its fully vulnerable to everything. somehow, it does has some sealing to protect place where it moves (buttons etc) although its not JIS certified, it doesnt mean the weather sealing has no weather proof capability. The Luminous Landscape seem to think its sealing is good. there is no proof or case study of how good the sealing of Alpha, nor there is any to proof of how bad it is

AF, but using MF is possible.

placing of the subject conveys different meanings. the 'right side' rule is only a guide, and it is not necessary to stick to it. when i put it like this, it conveys MORE speed, as though its so fast, it travels OUT of the frame trailing everything behind.
