There are reports that an Electronic Arts insider has leaked to the press that the next Dragon Age will feature multiplayer.

According to the rumor, dragons will also be playable in the multiplayer mode, giving players the chance to go fight against other players in a flying, fire-breathing dragon form. The multiplayer would be an arena-styled game with both PvE and PVP elements, in addition to full man-on-dragon combat.

The insider, however, is not clear on whether the alleged Dragon Age multiplayer will be part of a full, stand-alone title such as a Dragon Age III, or if it'll just be a downloadable standalone game.

One of the more intriguing aspects is that it is apparently utilizing the Frostbite 2 engine, which was created by developer DICE and used for such titles as Battlefield 3. The insider states that the game looks "stunning".

Electronic Arts has yet to be reached for comment. Stay tuned.
