hello..
i need some opinion about CSL Spice MI300. although the phone is using android but does it really a good phone? what is the good and bad things using this phone...
*
yeap, agree with riezky, official firmware would be a problem.. this fone doesnt really have a community of developers.. so u might get left behind as well..

i would stay clear of this model, and go for a more common model (motorola, HTC, samsung)

HTC Wildfire vs HTC Legend, I'm planning to get either one of those, what do you guys recommend? I wanna get it with the contract stuff, if im going for Wildfire then it's Maxis for me, but if it's Legend then it'll be Digi lor

for now the Wildfire is being sold at RM500+ right? 24 months contract, I don't mind the contract cuz I'm gonna use the phone for some time.. Is it worth the extra 400 bucks for Legend? I prefer the Wildfire's looks than Legend's TBH.
*
i would say go for the Legend, 1st reason is because its DiGi, their data is unlimited data, whereas if u go with maxis, 500mb data might not be enough, many ppl have complained abt maxis' data charges, but all depends on how u use ur fone, but if u want to be on the safe side, go with DiGi, coz once u exceed the 500mb data limit of maxis, ur bill is gonna cost a BOMB!.. so if u still really wanna go with the wildfire, and stick with maxis, then just make sure u get the bigger data package..

well now about the fones, the Legend, is better coz it has a faster processor, higher resolution screen, and nicer built..

the wildfire is also a good fone, but the Legend is just better..

QUOTE(Koki @ Sep 2 2010, 07:37 PM)
I'm stuck with a HTC Touch first gen and it started showing problems and such.
Now I actually want to hop on to the Android bandwagon.

Budget : about 1k+
Brand : Not much comment
Specs : 3.5mm jack, at least 3.5" capacitive touch screen, Android 2.1 Eclair.

I actually have my eyes on Acer Liquid E now, but it's RM1450.
I also wondered, is the price influenced by its date of release? The Liquid E only released on August.
*
im not too sure about the acer android fones, coz theyre not as popular, and their community is much smaller compared to the htc, motorola and samsung comunities..

problem with acer android fones might be the updates and the modding community (but as i said, im not too sure bout that)

but if u want a android fone that is at least 3.5" and at that price.. it would be the motorola milestone.. if u want a newer fone, it would be the milestone xt720 (but its a little more expensive, and not that much of a diff compared to the milestone).. some other fones that fit ur budget, but not the screen size u want is the Legend and the wildfire(both 3.2")

btw, ur budget of 1k+ reaches how far? if it can reach bout 1.8 to 1.9k then u can get the htc desire and samsung galaxy S(8gb ap set about rm1860)..

Hm... about 1k+ is about RM1200 only. Can't extend till Galaxy S.
And communities or whatever... I did check on XDA forums, they even offered a modding centre for Acer phones thumbup.gif
I seriously wonder if the price will drop since it's still very new
*
in terms of specs, the fone seems to be quite decent.. and its a 3.5" screen, so its quite interesting.. PERSONALLY i wouldnt go for an acer android fone "YET", mebbe sometime in the future.. but not yet..

u shud go read some and watch some reviews on youtube about the fone before u decide.. just as long as ur happy with ur fone..

not sure abt the price movements part tho..

and your other choice which is abt the same price as the acer liquid E would be the milestone ap set..

so its just depends on which one you prefer.. but really, go read and watch some reviews.. it will really help.

QUOTE(Dannyl @ Sep 3 2010, 11:51 AM)
Thanks, considering the Legend right now.  RRP is about RM1,500, so is it worth it to get it from DiGi at RM999 with 2-year contract?  Actually thinking of getting it with data plan for my wife since her SE K660i is problematic.  Neither of us has actually used Android before.  Is it easy to use?  She'll be using normal phone functions and for surfing, Facebooking, taking pics, etc.  Any DiGi outlets where we can test the Legend?
*
if u dont mind the 2 year contract, then i believe that rm999 is a good price for the legend.. with this contract, u haf to sign up with their DiGi smart plan, which is actually pretty good.. unlimited data is the most useful thing abt this plan..

anyhow, about android fones, it is pretty simple to use, but might not be as simple to use as the iphone, but definately much easier to use compared to windows mobile.. and there is a slight learning curve, but u shud be able to get the hang of it pretty easily.. go watch vids of the legend, it will provide u with some knowledge on how an android fone works.

this fone is quite a decent fone to use for surfing, and the sense UI which is applied onto the legend, will provide some good facebook intergration..
not sure on whether DiGi stores would have a test unit, but u could try goin to places like lowyat to test the fone, and theres also a digi outlet in lowyat, so if digi doesnt have a test unit, i guess u could try testing it at some other dealer's booth..

hi. i want to get an android fon but still confuse whether to get x10 or htc aria/legend?
any suggestion?
*
its up to u, x10 has a much larger screen, a better camera, but i dun like the UI sony ericsson put on the fone..

the aria and legend are both about mid range android fones, and personally i tink aria is a little overpriced at the moment, so between the two, i would go for the legend..

btw, wats ur budget?

Btw, there's been a lot of Android 3.0 required specs that I saw.
Is it confirmed btw? 512MB RAM, 3.5" touch screen and a 1GHz minimum?
*
Those are just rumours.. no confirmation.. haf to wait longer for them to announce the actual requirements

QUOTE(kaka91 @ Sep 4 2010, 11:05 PM)
hey guys, just wondering which of these 3 phones should i buy? samsung galaxy s, xpeira, or HTC desire?
*
personally i would take the xperia out of the equation.. coz in terms of hardware, it is behind the galaxy s and the desire (except for the camera, i tink xperia10 has the best camera)

and between the galaxy S and the desire, it depends on what u want in a fone, if u want to use it to play games, then the galaxy S is the best choice because of its amazing GPU..

if u want a good and solid fone in terms of software and hardware, then i say the desire..

but if u want to use ur fone to watch movies, galaxy S wins again because of its amazing super amoled screen, and its native capability to play DiVX files..

the only problem with galaxy S at the moment, is the software, which is not bad, but just not as good as the desire and their htc sense UI..

but thats not much of a problem as fixes are coming, and if u root ur fone, the software part is not really gonna be an issue anymore..

so in terms of hardware galaxy S beats the desire..

it all depends on you..

guys how bout huawei u8230.. lol..
it seems to be a good bargain at a cheaper price?...
comes with secondary camera oso..
*
first thing u must find out is the updatability of the fone software, and whether or not there is a community around to provide custom builds and roms..

i wouldnt go for huawei for now, coz not many ppl use them, and im not sure how well they will provide updates.. u could try ur luck, but imo, i wouldnt go for huawei for now..

go for a fone that is more used, one that updates are sure to come.. mebbe a fone like the desire or the galaxy S.. but if ur on a budget then try the HTC legend.. rm999 with 2 year contract with DiGi..

brand : any
budget: around rm1k
spec: moderate screen size with good resolution, good picture quality
*
only can think of 3 fones.. the HTC legend, wildfire and motorola milestone..

Legend and wildfire have 3.2" screen, but Legend has higher resolution.. and between these two, the Legend has a slightly faster processor..

the Motorola milestone has a 3.7" screen, and a good high resolution of 854x480 if im not mistaken.. a little odd resolution, but i guess when u compare the resolution, the lower resolution of the Legend paired with its smaller screen, would look about the same as the resolution on the milestone.. so no big difference there..

Legend sells for rm999 with 2 year contract with DiGi, and milestone, u can get it at the garage sales around 1.2 to 1.4k i tink.. im not so sure..

wildfire is the cheapest.. its around rm1k+- at the garage sales, no contract..

so all depends on you now..

hope this helped smile.gif

but its a little more expensive.. try checking out the garage sales.. u might get a good bargain.

I was at a dealer comparing desire and samsung galaxy s. His advice is to take desire coz it will be able to run on Android 3.0 next time coz HTC has some licensing agreement with Google whilst Samsung does not. So the max galaxy can run is 2.2 unless u upgrade by urself. any truth in what the dealer claimed?
*
i honestly have no idea, but samsung is supposedly wanting to change their ways, and become better with the galaxy S.. so we really wont know.. but i tink the galaxy S will get 3.0 altho might take longer than the desire..

but i juz got my galaxy S and honestly i have no regrets what so ever.. ive played with the desire, and its a really really nice fone, but the galaxy juz catches you with its stunning display and smooth gaming capability..

but if u want to choose between these two fones, i suggest u go test both fones out.. ur decision should be based on what you will use ur fone for.. and also on personal preference..

HTC Desire or Motorola Droid/Milestone or Samsung Galaxy?

I saw the 3D games showdown and all Snapdragon processors got THRASHED. The only thing Desire is better in my point of view is the HTC Sense UI. I don't see any other reasons not to get the Galaxy.

Any recommendations guys?
*
In terms of gaming.. The galaxy s is currently the best. Then comes the droid x.. But tats not available in malaysia.. So the next best wud be the milestone xt720.. But the galaxy s does much better in terms of graphics and gaming..
The desire is nice because it already has android 2.2 and i tink sense is really nice.. But the galaxy s is really an awesome fone.. I juz bought mine last week and im sending this msg thru my galaxy s.. Oh yea.. And the screen on this fone is fantastic..

Oh and the galaxy s also supports true multitouch.. 5 points multitouch.. Unlike thr desire which has only 2.. But both are great fones.. I just personally prefer the galaxy s after trying both fones out

i'm also looking for new phone..budget around below 1.5k

how about n900?? or can u all recommend a phone for me...
hope can browse n chat well through phone..
*
If budget below 1.5k then u can try the htc legend or the motorola milestone and milestone xt720.. All are very decent fones. But if u want a physical qwerty keyboard on the fone then theres currently only thr milestone.. Or u can wait till beginning next year and get the milestone 2.. All these 3 fones are great. The milestone series have a larger and higher resolution screen.. But somehow i prefer the legend.. Dunno why?

4. qwerty keyboard (optional)
5. multi touch
6. flashlight for camera
7. battery last long
8. wifi
9. price <> 1k

so far i found only milestone... or XT720(singtel set)
*
Ermm. For ur budget i can only tink of milestone and milestone xt720 lo.. Even both these fones are above ur budget.. The best fone for 3d gaming wud be the galaxy s tho.. But its waaaaayyy above ur budget.. But since ur budget a bit low. I say get the milestone xt720..

can get new android??

how about HTC wildfire? best bang for the buck??

can it update to android 2.2 froyo in the future??

plzz help..

first time android user here.. very interested.. sweat.gif

A better one would be the HTC Legend.. selling at DiGi for rm999 with 2 year contract..

coz it has a faster CPU and higher resolution screen as compared to the Wildfire..

want to ask, which phone is better for long term?coz i rarely changed my phone...
desire or galaxy s?
*
I would say in terms of Specs, the Galaxy S would stand a stronger chance in the future, mainly because of its amazing GPU and CPU.. The GPU will allow u the fone to handle graphics better than the Desire. and future games that will come out will most likely be able to run on the Galaxy S..

Yo guys. If I plan to get an Android phone with these specs, which one should I get?

1. No budget

2. Budget of <1.4K

720p video playback
latest android >2.2
Screen bigger than 3.0"
acceptable battery life

I use a lot of 3g & wifi as well.
smile.gif
*
So issit 1 or 2? no budget or <1.4k? or both?

well if no budget then get the Galaxy S..

but with a budget of <1.4k then get the HTC Legend..

btw, all these new touch screen fones all dont have very good battery life.. but theyre acceptable..

I am lost between galaxy s and desire too... according to surveys, the pros of galaxy s is the super amoled screen, better camera and better sound quality...but the price is still too high compared to desire which has 2 years warranty...btw, wats the difference between wildfire and desire? more than rm500 difference..besides the processor and screen...
*
do u mean between galaxy S and desire or galaxy S and wildfire..

well.. i personally prefer the galaxy S coz it handles games much better and screen is beautiful.. but the desire is a more stable and solid fone..

if u play games on ur fone, or intend to play some 3D games, u shud go for the galaxy S, coz the desire might not be able to handle it..

or not then wait for the desire HD and desire Z which are supposed to come with the adreno205 GPU which is very much better than the current snapdragon GPU

owh, and if ur comparing wildfire and desire.. then desire wins hands down. coz theyre from different range.. desire is high end, wildfire is entry level to mid range android fone.

helo there...
i am facing the same prob...
havin prob of choice either desire or wildfire ...

could u explain more of it ?

thank u ...
*
desire is a lot faster.. it has a 1ghz snapdragon processor while the wildfire oni has a 528mhz i tink..

besides that, the desire has a bigger screen and has a bigger RAM.. which makes a faster and better android experience.. which is why its much more expensive as compared to the wildfire.

owh, and the resolution on the wildfire is 320*240 i tink which is pretty sad.. the htc desire has a resolution of 800*480.. its up to u.. if ur on a budget, then go for the wildfire, it is also a good fone..

but if ur budget allows it, the desire is a better fone.. or if u wanna top up a little bit more from the desire.. then the Galaxy S is also an awesome fone (best for gaming and watching videos)

hi guys
wats the best android phone which can also be a mp3 player?

i wanna get ipod touch 4g 32gb
but if there is android phone which can do the same thing n have almost similar capacity (16-32gb).....
i might tempted to get an android phone instead

hope u guys can give some advice
*
i would say that the closest thing to the ipod touch would be the galaxy S.. its a little pricey tho, but comes with 8gb and 16gb models, and u can expand memory using microSD as well.. so u can get up to 16gb+32gb of space..

besides that, games run great on the galaxy S.. and it has a fantastic screen for viewing pictures and videos(comes with native support of XViD, DiVX, mkv etc...

but as i said.. its a little pricey.. so if ur budget allows it, i would say the closest thing to the ipod would deifnately be the galaxy S

Aria screen resolution is better then Wildfire or just same?
*
Aria has a higher resolution screen.. 320x480 instead of the wildfire which has 240x320 if im not mistaken..

Aria is nearly the exact same fone as Legend in terms of hardware except that it the Aria has a slightly lower capacity battery and uses TFT screen instead of the Amoled on the Legend (and again, if im not mistaken.. do correct me if im wrong)
