I think X10 has the best camera currently amongst all android phone.

- Web surfing => What phone?
All android phones can do this with no prob.

- Longer operation. Big battery => What phone?
Depends on how u use it.

Most important is: What is your budget?

In dilema, should i choose desire HD or galaxy S?
*
Let's list down the pros over these 2 phones.

[Galaxy S]
- Super AMOLED screen
- TV output (through 3.5mm jack)
- Better battery life
- Super slim
- Ultra light
- Front camera

[Desire HD]
- Bigger screen
- More megapixel camera with LED flash

IMHO, Galaxy S is the best Android phone currently available.

^ Your statement is wrong. Galaxy S is actually one of the laggy Android phones. Even though the specs are great, the lagness just killed it.

These are my personal experience with the SGS:

The SGS will lag once you installed it up with apps. Infact no need to install, just use any file explorer and access example the SD card - first access will be about 2-3 secs depending how much data you have on card. This lag is becaue of the Samsung file system ( a fact Samsung acknowledge will improve it). Compared to other Androids the file access is almost instant

When it is loaded up with apps, there is a lag in launching. The UI will not be as smooth as before

I was very disspaointed then with it ; I installed froyo and all available lagfix ( OCLF n Voodoo ) but the improvement is there I consider only margibnal. Many SGS users were estatic when the lag fix installed and quoted a high quadarnt reading. I got a 2350 reading but I find it meaningless as it still loses out terribly to my HD2 ( ruunning Android ), uncomparable to my ex NexusOne and even the Dell Streak on ver 1.6 ( on a quadrant of only 950) performs better than it in terms of UI, launch, file access. It loses out terribly against the upgraded Dell ( Froyo)

Well, this is just my experience in the SGS

Have tested the DHD ( friend's unit in Spore) - it is definately many levels above the SGS

The SGS however is unbeatable in display, and its great video options

do you have any other device to compare to?
without comparison, the lag is not apparent, you wouldn't notice it easily,

but when you put 2 device under direct comparison,
the lag become noticeable.

if there's no lag, there wouldn't be lag fix created specifically for SGS.

The earlier batch Samsung Galaxy S suffered lags due to Samsung poorly software implementation. It is not a hardware problem and it is not permanent. In short, this lag problem is solved with newer software updates. I re-post a video here showing SGS in one of the latest ROM. It was posted earlier by @jujx.

Need you guys' opinion. Do you think it's better to get a phone through carrier plans, or to get one from other places like GS?

Hi, I'm looking for some recommendations.

I'd prefer 8MP camera, but 5MP is fine as well. Must have flash.
The phone should not lag/slow after a lot of pictures/vids stored in it.
My budget range is between Rm1k-2k.

Atm, my list is either N8, Samsung Galaxy S. HTC Desire HD was in the list, but it's too big :S
Most of the time, the phone will be used for musics, photography, videos.
